ALDO Amilmathien Red Ankle Boots ❤️๐Ÿ‘ | #ChicSassyMomFinds

There's something about red shoes. They are such magnets of good, meaningful, and random conversations amongst friends and strangers alike. Here's my recent pair. It's so pretty.

Everybody's favorite ALDO Amilmathien Leather Ankle Boots $100+
"In search of a pair of shoes that are sure to “kick” some much needed attitude into your wardrobe (see what we did there)? Well look no further: we present the Amilmathien from cult high-street hero Aldo. With an unusual cut-out silhouette and skyscraper heel, these gems are one to wear from the office (if you’re feeling fiery) straight to drinks with friends and, well, on to the dancefloor. We’ll see you there!" -Selfridges Says

They are so beautiful. Soft, comfy and super stylish. I felt tall, sexy and extra pretty. #FeelingModel ๐Ÿ˜…I need a black pair. Oh my goodness, I'm running out of shoe space! ๐Ÿ™ŠBut, fret not, one can never have too many shoes. Our bed is big enough to keep more pairs. Cheers! ✌๐Ÿป

Of Weddings , #GucciShoes and #OOTD ๐Ÿ‘ฐ๐Ÿป | I need a hobby! ๐Ÿ˜…

Ni Hao, friends! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Yes, yes, I'm still on CDrama Mode, and my love for a Chinese dongsaeng is as overflowing as before (see IG @noonadiaries ). Surprisingly, real life drama is keeping me busy (present tense) for the past weeks or so...from one working weekend to another. I'm so engaged!!! The funny thing, I must be driving everyone in our company insane with my relentless (although delivered at the most charming possible way, so I hope) messages, calls, after office hours, to the point that they are asking me to relax, chill and just (for goodness sake) take a day off. So today, I'm off, albeit reluctantly (I'm on sick leave, but please call me anytime! ✌๐Ÿป)! I will try my very best not to call or to send a single message to anyone today. Let's see! ๐Ÿคž๐ŸปI NEED a life...ooops, maybe I meant, I have a life, and they need theirs! And so, I'm back!

One fine, just another California weekend, we went to a wedding at the beautiful Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay.

Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay is a tourist destination when in San Francisco. Being Bay Area locals now, we didn't feel the need to visit just yet. So I was beyond ecstatic that my first visit was not for photo op ๐Ÿ˜… but to attend a wedding! ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐ŸปP.S. Plan your "tour" to the very scenic Half Moon Bay, ready your valet parking fee $50. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Now for the details of my #OOTD

Choices ๐Ÿค”

At Nordstrom Rack, prices are superb ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป, except you are limited with the sizes. Unless it's your lucky day, then you get that one and only dress available that fits you. There's a mix of designer and house brands, the Blue Black is a Kenzo. The Black and white, I adore, but I couldn't fit. ๐Ÿฅบ
You know we have San Francisco Premium Outlets, right? It's not Cabazon, but we do have designer aplenty. If the Gucci shoe fits, buy it!!! It's just so beautiful.
Gucci Black Ophelia Floral Embroidered Sandals
I love weddings in California. They are cozy. The beautiful Half Moon Bay sunset is such a perfect setting for celebrating love. ๐ŸฅฐAwwww, I've been watching too many dramas, so I'm drawn! Congratulations and Best Wishes! Cheers! ✨

Caring for Highlighted Hair #DysonAirwrap | #ChicSassyMomFinds

Ni hao! ๐Ÿค— It’s another hair post ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿผ‍♀️...highlights are alive, thanks to all those blue, purple, no-sulfate haircare recommendations  (thank you, loves!๐Ÿ’‹) and all those variety of hair serums and oils from my Allure and Ipsy subscriptions that comes in monthly. It's a lot of work. I kid you not, and a lot of products. But oh well... I'm a skincare addict ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป‍♀️, and I can do multi-step, plus I do love to hoard haircare products. Love is in the hair.

My current haircare #MustHaves :
1) A lot of Hair mask like Lulu, Kiehl's Magic Elixir (from my skincare post), a lot of conditioners (still undecided which is my fave conditioner, will let you know)
2) Neuma neuMoisture Instant Fix, 12 Benefits Instant Healthy Hair Treatment, Redken One United, Plantactive Blend from Sally Beauty
3) Dyson Airwrap just because I'm still in awe over it (though I'm still learning how to make the most of the Airwrap attachments ๐Ÿ˜…)
I'm linking all products I mentioned earlier to their official websites since I don't think I can make a full review of them. The Neuma and 12 Benefits, both cream-based, are all from my ipsy subscriptions. I picked them out amidst all the sea of leave on hair treatments sent every so often. Though admittedly my first qualifier was the scent. Both smells nice. Plus, they soften, moisten and add bounce when applied on damp hair prior styling with Dyson. The Redken, also cream-based, I got from the salon after my hair coloration. Of all the four, I like the scent of Redken the most. But it gives off the same softness as the rest. The Blend is the only serum (oil-based) I bought on a trip to Sally Beauty. I like the scent. Plus, I especially use it on days when I just use dry-shampoo, in between washes.

I can't decide which is my fave cream-based hair treatment, I welcome the variety, so I would most likely repurchase all three (Redken, Neuma, 12 Benefits). But I daresay, they work best because of Dyson. I've tried going on days  (while on business trips) without Dyson, and it was literally bad hair days! ๐Ÿ™ŠIt's truly worth it!!! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜‰So bring on the shameless selfie posts. Cheers! ๐Ÿ’‹

Favorite High Heel Work Shoes | #ChicSassyMomFinds

Ni hao!๐Ÿค—There's a fangirl story behind my greeting. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Oh my goodness, I'm too sleepy to blog (and there's a related side story about it too ๐Ÿ˜…), but I just want to commit myself on keeping this blog alive as much as I can. Time management at its finest. ๐Ÿคž๐ŸปThere's time for work, chores, family time, drama time and "me" time. With God's grace, it helps that chasing California dreams seems to be a breeze. I'm so engaged with work! Yay! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐ŸปIt's super challenging, pleasantly tiring day in day out, but I love that I can still daresay, it's not toxic. In between office meetings, we have luncheon and dinner meetings to boot. (What diet?! ) Plus I love the variety of outfit choices here in California (means that I can shop ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿป‍♀️)...if only I can do #OOTD posts everyday, KDrama inspired, of course, I will! ✌๐ŸปAlthough Fall and Winter work outfits will now be my forever favorite (boots season forever,) I'm happily getting by dressing for spring and summer a la Park Min Young's in Her Private Life. That, plus thank goodness for nice shoes.

Pretty and functional...I love! Comfiest work heels ever
I couldn't get enough of them. One can never have too many shoes.

Here's hoping for more #OOTD posts.

But wait, there's more...
Pretty, comfy and not pricey at all...Coach shoes, oh how I love thee. ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿป

P.S. Here's the side story.  Super sleepy with shuffling between real life drama and Chinese Drama. Watch raw. Read novel. Watch with Subs. Watch again. Repeat. Yes, yes, Chinese drama not Korean drama! ✌๐ŸปI'm super addicted to this Chinese Drama, my love for it is as much as I love Deng Lun. See my ravings for Go Go Squid at my @noonadiares IG. My fangirl heart is full, but my, my. I need to sleep before I'm off to another LA trip for work. Jiayou! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Bath and Body Works Semi-Annual Sale Finds | #ChicSassyMomFinds

Ciao bella! ๐Ÿค—

You ought to know that I'm crazy addicted to Bath and Body Works (read here, here and here too).๐Ÿคท๐Ÿป‍♀️I reckon, one can never have enough, so although I was seriously trying to stay away from the semi-annual sale, I was almost out of on my way to the store, I kept reminding myself...I just needed candles. ๐Ÿ˜…

Candles for $10, plus $10 off for every $40 purchase
Champagne Toast is our favorite scent be it for candles, soaps and sanitizers. It wasn't part of the promotion but I fell in love with the Beach Sage and Mint and Salted Ocean Air. The Ciao Bella is on the sweet side, just for added variety every so often.

There were soooooh many daily offers, as in. Choose wisely. Wants vs. Needs.๐Ÿ˜‰ I needed hand soaps.

Champagne Toast and White Tea & Sage are scents, which are both well-liked by my very picky hubby and son, plus they have essential oils and me likey a lot of essential oils ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป
Living here in California, I thought I'll get over this phase of hoarding Bath and Body Works ๐Ÿ˜…,  but apparently....not! With it, the urge always win. ๐ŸคซOh well! ✌๐Ÿป

Favorite TWG Tea ๐Ÿต| #ChicSassyMomFinds

TWG Tea, oh how I love thee! If asked, how do I take my tea? I take it very seriously, like crazy. TWG is my favorite tea brand. Look them up here. So when in Singapore, be sure to grab some in the airport. Thankfully, we have them in Manila too with the loveliest tea place to boot. I just realized I never posted about it. Hmmmm. Now, I'm missing Manila. I have friends visiting from home, I requested for some for pasalubong (now I'm adding that my growing list ๐Ÿ˜‰). Yay! Oh happy day! Thank you!

Updated Korean Skincare Routine ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒ| #ChicSassyMomFinds

Annyeong, cinggu! ๐Ÿค—

I'm a skincare addict! ๐Ÿ™‹๐ŸปIt has been a while since I updated my skincare routine. It's still as elaborate as ever, 9-10 steps, forever inspired with Korean multi-step Skincare routine.  It's mostly mixing and matching of the mainstay brands and the new ones. Except lately, I've been trying out stuff here and there, thanks to my subscription of ipsy and allure, check them out at IG @chicsassymomfinds. Some are hits, some are misses. Plus, I have super sensitive skin, so it's not really a good idea. Oh well. So for whatever reason, I had breakouts, so I have to revisit my skincare routine. So here goes the old new routine...

I'm back to using Avene Thermal Spring Water, Kiehl's Calendula and Aloe Extract Toner (not Korean brand, but it's endorsed by Superjunior's Choi Siwon ✌๐Ÿป), Mizon Snail Repair Intensive Ampoule (from Amazon), Kiehl's Calendula Serum-Infused Water Cream,  Mizon All in One Snail Repair Cream, and my Skederm Snail Jelly Mask

Unboxing Tory Burch Boots ๐Ÿ‘ข | #ChicSassyMomFinds

Awwww my dear friends, is it fall/winter season yet?

I have always been in love with boots (read here, here, and here too), so I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be...San Francisco Bay Area. To quote Mark Twain, "the coldest winter I ever saw was the summer I spent in San Francisco." But truly, paractically, the best time to buy boots is during summer for the off-season sale. So here goes...

The coveted dust bag, which you only get when you buy in store and online shop (not outlet).
Yeehaw!!! Tory Burch Brooke Slouchy Boot with extra 25% off, Final Sale Price is $178.
Per my experience with boots, you need to get 1 size bigger if you want for regular socks and to layer with jeans, 1.5 size bigger if you will use winter socks for added warmth. I plan to use this for working over leggings, or stockings, so I only got a size bigger.
Winter is not yet coming. But I can't wait for fall. Cheers! ✌๐Ÿป

Starbucks 1912 Pike Place Seattle | #ChicSassyMomFinds

I'm a happy fangirl ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฅฐ...because I’m a Starbucks ☕️๐Ÿต addict to the bone, I'm ecstatic to make it to where it all began... the first Starbucks.

of Siren, mermaid and princess...Original Starbucks Logo
That Starbucks iconic sign
Starbucks Pike Place Exclusive Merchandise
I couldn't agree more. Starbucks is a place where we can all come together over a cup of coffee.
I was here at the first Starbucks!
It was a loooong roadtrip from Fremont to Seattle. We were literally sleepless in Seattle (yay! so the opportune time finally came for me to use #SleeplessinSeattle ๐Ÿ˜…), but we got a City Pass and we're committed to make the trip worth it, no time to lose. Last stop before dinner was the original Starbucks in Pike Place Market. There was a long line. Be prepared to do that. If you're a fan, it's worth the pilgrimage trip. I promise.

Onward with ❤️,

New Hair Highlights | #ChicSassyMomFinds

Annyeong, cinggu! ๐Ÿค—Oh my, so I was seriously MIA, not only with real life drama, but mostly just because I feel like Instagram killed blogging. And I'm so sad, because I'm so bad at it (but I try as @chicsassymom). I thought with blogging, if I work diligently, I feel like I'm actually good at it. Plus I do love to write... a lot. So I'm back here in my happy space, so please prove me wrong, leave me a comment below.

Anyhow, so they say that one’s mood depends on how the hair looks ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿผ‍♀️...for me? Sometimes. Because more often than not, my hair depends on my #fangirl mood. And it was on all time high last time because of ...๐Ÿ˜‰๐ŸคซSo bring on the highlights! ❤️๐Ÿ™†๐Ÿผ‍♀️

Pasalubong Ideas from the Philippines | #ChicSassyMomXUSA

Mabuhay! ๐Ÿค—Absence makes the heart grown fonder ๐Ÿฅบ... I miss goodies from the Philippines, (food and non-food) products, and just all those simple, random stuff that we get to ignore enjoy back home. So whenever there's a chance, I throw in my pasalubong request list. ๐Ÿ˜…Take note, I've very mindful on who I send out the list and just how much I put in the list for the fear of incurring fury. Excess baggage is real, people. ✌๐Ÿป

Chic & Sassy Mom Tips: If family are from the Philippines and are just visiting, if they sincerely offer, it might be okay to request for some kind of pasalubong (stuff they will get for you as a token of endearment being an integral part of our culture) or padala (stuff from your family/friends that will be coursed through them for you) or pabili (stuff they will need to buy for you, please make sure to send money beforehand)Just please be very mindful of just how much spare baggage space do they have and they can actually carry. Traveling with children provides them extra baggage space, but how on earth can they carry all those balikbayan boxes and luggages. For family and friends from the USA visiting to the Philippines, they too probably want to hoard goodies from the Philippines, so unless otherwise sincerely offered if you want anything, please do try to avoid. The same goes for sending stuff back to the USA from the Philippines via padala. Reminder to me. ๐ŸคซKey word. Sincerely offer. Hah. When you send/request for padala, make sure that the packaging is not sealed. You have to make sure that they know what they will be transporting on your behalf. Put them in clear Ziploc. Or just give them flexibility on how they can squish in the stuff here and there.

Anyhow, here's what we requested from family and friends who sincerely (hah) offered to get us pasalubong. ๐Ÿ˜…

Updated: June 27, 2019

Updating with more pictures because we got more. I love. Thank you.

Pasalubong from my sister's May US visit: Bread Pan, Oishi Salted Egg Flavor Chips, Yakisoba, Turrones de Casoy, Pancit Canton, Crab Paste, etc. Disclaimer: She's my sister and they're party of four and travelling business class, so they have baggage spaces to spare. ✌๐Ÿป

#MissingPhilippines Real Life Drama | #ChicSassyMomxUSA

Annyeong! ๐Ÿค—Hope you all had a great Christmas, New Year, Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day. Shocks! MIA for the nth time. I'm still here. A lot of dramas (real and reel), and I'm beyond overwhelmed. But oh well, life happens. I'm frustrated that I wish I was more diligent in blogging. Instagram (and Twitter and Facebook) is never my cup of tea where one photo can make or brake you ๐Ÿ˜”, so I have nowhere to go but here. So let's see where this post leads me...

Happiness is an empty laundry basket. ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป‍♀️
You'll know that we're currently chasing our California dreams, yes dear friends, still chasing, not yet living. But somehow, these dreams are too awesome not to chase (according to someone... ahem!), so I gave up fan meeting (hahaha), Seoul searchingsalon trips, and just basically embraced being help-less. ๐Ÿ˜…And my, for the record, I have to just say it out loud, my greatest fear living here in the US is going to a dentist, and incurring thousands of dollars bills for dental works. ๐Ÿฅด(I have never ever really fully recovered ending my career in Colgate Palmolive, where the best perk is free dental works.)  I might sound capricious for missing such wants, but I won't go overly dramatic, soapy and weepy by talking about how I terribly miss my family, and I'll just go all out nega on you. We don't want that. My real life oppa will not like that. Hah. So the takeaway I want you to all have from reading this random post is that life in the Philippines is still beyond amazing. Just because, when you're home, you can get by (with your needs and yes, even wants) with a little help from your family and friends. Let me count the ways... (on my next post). I miss you, Manila! ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ
