Review: Asus ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE500KL) #SeeWhatOthersCantSee

Hello, December! ;-D

I'm back after a long while. I'm so sorry for the delay.  So busy. Oh well, life. I love December, perhaps like for most of us, it's my favorite time of the year. There's Christmas, and  it's my birth month. Yay! Anyhow, November was kind of sweet too. It's one of those most toxic time, just because we had so much to do, but we made it! We survived, most of them with flying colors. Thank goodness. I will try to save a post. Icing on the cake was this Asus ZenFone 2 that I received for my review. Teehee, I love my gadgets. Come to think of it, I'm willing to spend for a really nice one (ahem!) for the betterment of my Korean Drama viewing experience, more than I'm willing to buy a designer bag. I prefer bags as gifts.;-D

Sweeter times with Asus ZenFone 2 Laser in Afernoon Tea Theme. Few of my favorite things #TWGTea #KanazawaGoldLeaf #AsusZenFone2
My techie-ness has limitations. This is a disclaimer. Haha. They are limited to mobile phones, iPads, and computers (Mac and Windows). Cars, and game consoles and what have you, I'm clueless. For those that matter to me, I like them easy to operate, and in tip top condition. But bless me, I actually learn to control myself and not to upgrade on a whim. Save, and see the world. Amass memories. And pray that I can blog about them. ;-D (I truly miss blogging.) So it's all boil down to owning my must have gadgets, a personal mobile phone, a tablet that's not too complicated, runs fast, good battery life, and high memory for my Korean Dramas, and a work phone that's pretty and functional. Sweet, the Asus ZenFone 2 Laser with all it's technical specification, features, award winning design and performance at a super friendly pricing, is a nice addition to my must-have gadget.

A marvel of craftsmanship and engineering that combines the beauty of Zen, unprecedented performance, sharp vision and a seamless and intuitive UI, designed to be your best companion.
The Beauty of Zen.
  •  Beautifully-Crafted with Ultra-Thin Edges
  • The volume and shutter button moved to the back to reduce the thickness of the ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE500KL) to a mere 3.5mm, while at the same time delivering a very comfortable user experience.

I will leave the technical praises for its specification to the experts. But I can name five features that are really worth raving for.

First off, it's really the camera capabilities that had me at Hello.

See What Others Can’t See with its PixelMaster 2.0 Camera Feature
ZenFone 2 Laser’s 13MP PixelMaster camera with its f/2.0-aperture lens captures stunning, high-resolution photos with zero shutter lag. The brand-new laser-autofocus feature greatly reduces blurring and enhances image stabilization, and the industry-leading Low Light mode employs pixel-merging technology to capture up to 400%-brighter photos at night or in low-light scenes — all without the need for a flash. Backlight (Super HDR) mode lets you see clearly through daytime shadow and Super Resolution mode helps you to capture detailed images at resolutions of up to 52MP!
Unrivaled Low Light Mode
Auto Mode with Zero Shutter Lag + Super Resolution

Selfie Panorama
Glamorous Selfie Shots. Even the Instagram No Filter will give you beautiful selfie. ;-D
Hands down for its remarkable battery efficiency. ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE500KL) is powered by a Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 410 processor, ample power for your daily tasks and activities. Featuring LTE Category 4 for download speeds up to 150Mbps. Whole day on LTE, every so often Social Media access, emails, calls, and more. I have to remind myself to charge.

Ergonomic Arc Design.
I know this is bad, but yes, I'm guilty of taking and making calls during my drive to and from the office.  To try out the unit, I replaced my official company issue phone to the Asus, oh how I feel thankful for its elegant shape that feels secure and extremely comfortable to hold. I'm ditching that work phone. Plus, super feature I love about the design is the easy selfie time to complement the nice camera feature.

To round up, I love the camera feature, the battery performance, and the ergonomic design. Top 3 reasons alone, I'm sold. But there are more, I like that you can put SD card up to 128G for more Korean Drama time, and more memories that are beautifully taken to boot. I love that it's built to a support the everyday demands of a busy body like yours truly. Featuring a "Quality Forward" in mind is a promise of Asus to the end user that every piece of the ZenFone is long lasting, durable and trust worthy in every aspect. And it's not at all complicated to deliver remarkable performance, easy buttons, easy touch, with an easy on the pocket price point of  P7295 SRP, amazing! All-encompassing, the smartphone is as delightful as its namesake, Zen.

Disclaimer: I received the phone for free, specs and other features are provided for, and are also avaialbe in the website of Asus ZenFone 2 Laser. Opinions expressed here are my own from my experience from using it for almost a month now. ;-D

McDonald's Burger Shop in KidZania Manila #McDoatKidZania

Super late post. I'm sorry.

Chase is going back to KidZania tomorrow for his field trip. Here's why he and his cousin, Gabe, are crazy in-love with McDonald's and now with KidZania. Hooray!

Chaseyboy and Gabe with Birdie, Hamburglar, Ronald, and Grimace at the Manila McDonald’s Park Triangle located at the ground floor beside KidZania Manila.
Sometime ago, the cousins were treated by McDonald's Philippines and KidZania to a perfect playdate. Awesome, great timing, as it was like a post birthday treat for my nephew, and a pre-birthday gift to my son. *Teehee We were all super excited. I have a thousand and one photos of KidZania. I do hope to make time to do a separate blog post for it.

These boys sure think that I'm the coolest aunt/mom ever. ;-D Thank you #McDoPh x #KidZaniaManila
KidZania Manila is an interactive kid-sized city, that features more than 70 real-life establishments, where it promises memorable experiences designed to educate and to inspire kids to be their best selves with the over 100 role playing activities to choose from.

Our first stop in KidZania was a cheeseburger-making gig at McDonald's. Opening last September, the Mc Donald's Burger Shop is happy to train and share the secret steps in making a perfect cheeseburger the McDo's way.

Spot the two boys. Excited much. Welcome to McDonald's Kidzania! This McDo branch is not like any other in the country. It looks like your usual MCDo counter, but a closer look shows off the kid-sized kitchen where by paying 15KidZos (13 KidZos if with passport), they will have access to training and sample the iconic McDo Cheeseburger they put together.
They're all set.
McDonald’s Burger Shop will train kids age 4 to 12 years old the ingredients that go into every McDonald’s Cheeseburger and each step of the process in making it. The training that kids will undergo is the same standard procedure that ensures Quality, Service and Cleanliness delivered to every customer and each meal enjoyed in any McDonald’s around the world.
Chase and Gabe at work.
At every visit, kids will put together all of its tasty ingredients -- 100% pure beef patty, a slice of American cheese, tangy pickles minced onions, ketchup, mustard, and perfectly toasted buns.
So serious.
Work and Play. Gabe is having so much fun. Looks like he was asking for additional burger patty to the trainer. I'm kidding. ;-D
Success! Mission accomplished!
Love ko 'to! Awww. His precious Mc Donald's Cheeseburger.
Hooray. Happy Boys. Thanks, McDo Ph! ;-D
Chic and Sassy Tips: There was so much photo opportunities for the boys (so cute, I swear), a handy battery pack is in order. For the big boys, like the two of them, it seems they can get around the place by themselves. Though I insisted following them around for the photo ops, so you have to come in very comfy outfit.

We had the greatest time. It's like the best place ever for the boys.  There was so much to do. And half day is not enough to make the most of the place. I even reckon 3 trips will not be enough. And then, they would want to visit more KidZania all over the world to get more stamps. Oh, great! Cheers! ;-D

Fangirl Mode On: Lee Joon Gi joins Resident Evil:The Final Chapter

Annyeong, Hollywood!

Annyeong, Milla! Lee Joon Gi with Milla Javovich
Teehee. I'm so excited! My Lee Joon Gi is coming to Hollywood. He's to join the last Resident Evil movie. Though not sure yet about his role. I'm a fan of the movie franchise, watched all of them. Though, I haven't played the game, but I'm invested in Alice, and to the Redfield siblings (Chris and Claire). It was a thrill to see Wentworth Miller in the movie as I'm a big fan Prison Break.

This post from Milla Javovich is a big reveal why our beloved Joon Gi oppa is quiet on Instagram for sometime. Oh, so Joon Gi oppa was in South Africa for the movie. I'm mighty proud of him. He usually does his own stunts, post on English every so often in IG (@actor_jg and Weibo, plus he did a cover of I'm Yours, so a Hollywood debut is well-deserved. Fangirl forever.

I'm nursing a big bruise in the head (ouch!!!), so de-stressing with Korean and Japanese stuff keeps me from moping. I will keep this post sticky as soon as more details of his roles will be available. Cheering on Lee Joon Gi! Fighting! Cheers! ;-D

From Japan with Love | #ShuUemura #RoyceChocolates #GoldLeafFlakes

Yay! Hubby went on a business trip to Japan. He barely had time to sight see and to shop such that he didn't even make it to a supermarket so he just bought some goodies from Lawson Convenience Store though. That and just last minute shopping in the airport, but still, he got a handful of Japanese goodies. #Achieve ;-D

When in Tokyo...
Mt. Fuji Trip (albeit rainy = failed), Tokyo Banana Roar, Royce, Royce, and more Royce, Calbee Chips, Lawson's Lemon jelly-filled Marshmallows.

We're coming to Japan!

Konbanwa! Oh happy day!

Sidestory. Oh my, it's been a while. Please, please don't go away. It's still same old, same old. I wouldn't bore you with real life dramas, we all have enough Korean dramas and On the Wings of Love to keep us company. James Reid. Wow. ^_^ Teehee Anyhow, it's the second quarterly exams next week in LSGH, those Parent Performance Tasks are killing us. Aiishh! So please, pray that I will truly offer all my worries and hopes to God Almighty. I will not nag survive. Thank you!

So here's the saucy part, we're going to Christmas and New Year in Japan. Konnichiwa! Now for the back story. Hubby went to Japan last time. I love him for buying me all the goodies...makeups, Shu Uemura, Royce Chocolates, and Dolls. (Please check out my IG @chicsassymom.) I'm a happy girl. Another thing that kept me stressed out busy is putting together our Japan trip. It will be a long one. I'm pleasantly rushed to go through everything. Got our Visa, close my eyes and book the flights, now I'm fixing our itinerary, and hotel bookings.

Flight Schedules, Agoda Booking, AirBnB Booking and Apple Watch and iPhones (Chase's). Teehee Meantime, please forgive my photo, it's the best I can come up. ;-D #JapanTravel
Flights are pricey. I did my Math and decided it's more practical to stay longer, than go back before New Year. So plan is to go Osaka, Nara, Kyoto, Kobe, Kanazawa and Tokyo. I completed our booking for an apartment in AirBnB (will post a review) and hotels in Tokyo and Osaka via Agoda. So far, so good. Let's go! Cheers! ;-D

Seoul Korean Restaurant Ortigas | Fridates are made of the this!

Annyeonghaseyo, Monday!

It's the long weekend, yay! Happy dance. Hope you had a great one. Ours is Seoul-ful. It started with a Friday dinner night with my son in Seoul Korean Restaurant. Sunday was a Korean Buffet in Angeles City. Tonight is another Seoul Korean Restaurant dinner with friends. A blog post is in order.

First off, Seoul Korean Restaurant is used to be Happy 6 Days.  Under the new management of the Korean Auntie, who also owns the Korean Grocery, it's now called Seoul Korean Restaurant Ortigas.

I'm a big fan of their jjigaes and their deliveries even from the Happy 6 Days time. The pleasant improvement now is they have more side dishes. It's comparable to Jang Ga Nae's.

Chamchi Kimbap/Tuna Rice Rolls.
Samgyupsal or Grilled Pork Belly all for my son.
I'm in love with their Haemul Sundubu Jjigae/Seafood Soft Tofu Stew.
Their Omurice is a must try. I get my Seoul-ful nourishment here. Cheers! ^_^

Seoul Korean Restaurant Ortigas (formerly Happy 6 Days) is located at 8137 Plaza‎. St. Josemaria Escriva Drive. San Antonio, Pasig, National Capital Region, Philippines.

For Delivery, call +632.637.8282.

M.I.A. #Latergram

TGIF! Annyeong! ;-D

Oh wow, it's been a while. Truly, life has been (real life) dramatic.

My new work assignment is crazy beautiful. Hah. Think happy thoughts. I was out of town (Cebu) last time (and had no blog post about it!), mostly in meetings here and there with Business Partners so diverse enough to represent United Nations.

Oh well! That, couple with my yaya blues since last time (which, by the way, was just recently resolved...hope, she's the one! *Teehee), I'm no chic and sassy mom after all. I'm tired most of the time. I had no time to blog. Thank goodness for my boys for stepping up, they're very independent, loving, sweet, caring, and ever reliable. Sorry for being grumpy, and saying what the h***. Love, love, love. Peace. Thank you, God.

So, if you happen to chance upon my blog for the first time, annyeong! ;-D Hope you'll find a post or two, that will be meaningful to you.

I'm foremost a mommy blogger. I write about my son, Chase. Please know that I also wish to be a travel blogger, but I'm so into the moment, that I forget to take photos, hah. Plus lately, I just want to go to back to Korea, nowhere else, no place like home, eh!;-D I'm a Korean fan girl. I eat, breathe, sleep Korean Dramas. Watch Yongpal.

I love to eat (haay! and it shows. Diet forever!), but for fear of another episode of medical emergency, my food adventures are not as exciting. Goodbye, samgyupsal!

I'm a frustrated beauty blogger, though my last product review and a decent selfie was a long time ago.

If you're a a loyal reader and subscriber (thank you and please indulge me),  and you've been missing me...awww! *Teehee!, oh please wait, and don't go away, my Instagram (@chicsassymom) is updated every so often, though I don't really know how to do nice selfies, or take nice photos. I'm losing it! Poor me, while my hubby is doing so well in that field (check out Chase Partners, Inc. in FB and Instagram too). Oh well, life...let's do this! Aja! Aja! Fighting! Cheers! ^_^

Dewytree Collagen Mask Sheet Review

Annyeong, chinggu! ^_^

So many drama, so little I'll keep this review short and sweet.'s been a while since I did a skincare post. But yes, I'm still, more than ever, a Korean skincare addict fangirl. You should have seen me last time in Seoul, I was almost literally skipping with joy along Myeongdong with so many Korean skincare and beauty care shops to see.  *Teehee I couldn't help it, I had to splurge on Innisfree and Skinfood. Though, I didn't do a dedicated post about it since I mostly repurchased some of my skincare Must-Haves.

In order to make room for my ever growing collection of beauty care products from Seoul and Japan (see my IG updates @chicsassymom), I was finally done with my Dewytree Collagen mask sheets, which a friend gifted me last time, and of course, wasn't able to do a review right away. Oh, busy me!

Here goes...

Gigi Gaerlan's Custaroonery {Custaroons}

Sometime ago, I wrote about these delightful fusion of custards and macaroons, called Custaroons. We (it's a family affair) love, love, love these! You get these in Custaroonery of Gigi Gaerlan.

Custaroonery in St. Pio Chapel Compound, Libis. Before last year, you can only get them if you happen to visit St. Pio Chapel in Libis. Now you can find a kiosk at the SM Mega Fashion Hall in Megamall, and other mall kiosks. #HappyDance

We survived Back to School jitters!

Annyeong! ^_^

Oh my, time flies, Chaseyboy is now a 5th Grader. For our fourth school year in LSGH, I sort of mastered the pre-work to execute flawless first day in school. Haha.

My Green Archer.
Look, I did a major production to ready his room for a more inspiring learning space. Okay, it's really nothing fancy since I just sorted all his toys, and make do with a Lego/Kreo table to a study table. Basic, but often forgotten since he usually goes to the tutor to get school work done before. But not this school year, kiddo! Please use it well. *Teehee

Back to School Mates SY 2015-2016

Last two weeks to go, and it's back to school for my Chaseyboy.  Aww. Ohhh. Time flies.

It has been an annual thing to write about back to school, except for last year, which I missed, because I was too busy. Oh well.  But this year's back to school shopping soiree is special. We didn't cram! Learning from our super hectic shopping outing last year, I made sure to get the easy stuff like the stickers, bag tags done ahead of time. Best of all, I didn't argue with both of my boys (hubby and son) in terms of choices. Ha. This time, I truly tried to take a step back, and just let Chase decide. Oh my, he didn't even let me in the fitting room to try out his school pants. He's only 9 years old. My, my, please don't grow up so fast.

Igloo Playmate Lunchbox, Glasslock Food Storage, Freego Khaki Pants (we usually get them in school too, but he said he didn't like the fit, so we went to get them in SM Kids' Section), Jansport Camouflage Backpack, New Case for his Samsung Galaxy Tab, Florsheim Kids, School Supplies from LSGH)
He was choosing between two designs of camouflage prints, the other choice, he liked better because it had more camouflage prints and nice leather trimmings, but this offered the most comfort given great padding of the shoulder straps.  Jansport All Purpose Design Camouflage (T26LZU3) Php 3190, SM Department Store

Wingstop is here! #WingstopPh #FoodFinds

I fondly remember trying out Wingstop (as another tourist destination just like In-N-Out burger) whenever we're in LA, because it's the Official Wings of Los Angeles Lakers and my boys are big fans of Lakers. Well, me, I just like chicken wings. *Teehee

Happy dance, the Wing Experts are here.
10 branches and counting. #WingstopPh

Seoul-ful Food | Seoul Travel

Annyeong! ^_^

I love, love, love Korean food. I swear in my past life, I was a Seoulite. I must be. Please indulge me. *Teehee

Jal meokkesseumnida (I will eat well)! For our first night, we ate at this restaurant along Myeongdong.

Mandu (dumplings), Seafood Pancake, Chicken and beer, Buddae Jjigae. #Yum
Second day was city tour, and it was mostly coffee shops and street food for us. We went to Han River. Yay! #HappyDance

Third day was Korean Folk Village tour. I reckon that it's a Korean Drama fangirl must-do. It's reconnecting with our oppas and reminiscing fave Korean historical drama. Annyeong, Lee Joon Gi oppa! *Teehee

The fangirls were hungry, so before taking our bus back to the city, we found this interesting restaurant in front of the bus stop.

Yukgaejang (Beef Soup) and Sundaeguk for KRW 7000 each. Interesting. Since we really had no choice because that's all they have and we're very, very hungry. I ended up doing my own bibimbap (mixed rice) using what we have, kimchi, tofu, greens and gochujang (chili pepper paste). Soup for the soul, warmed us during the rainy day.

SkinFood Makeover for Moms #FOTD

Annyeong! Hope everyone had an awesome Mother's Day weekend!^_^

For this year, we made a short but oh so sweet trip  to Angeles City to spend Sunday church and breakfast with the family, then back to Manila. Saturday afternoon was Marquee Mall all-we-like. My son with his cousin enjoyed unlimited time playing at Invasion! @ Little Martians (it's a play area with Laser Tag, PC/iPad access, and a whole lot more). About 6 hours or so playing...what an amazing supply of energy!

Anyhow, with some time to spare, I availed of the Mother's Day featured mall treat/activity. One of which was a free makeover by SkinFood. You ought to know that I love, love, love SkinFood too. The brand paved the way for my Korea Cosmetics addiction love affair.

For my look, the Make-up artist used the following SkinFood goodies:
SkinFood Mushroom MultiCare BB Cream (first time to use it, I'm thinking of getting one) |
Rose Essence Mult Finish for my blush | Skin Food Fresh Fruit Lip & Cheek in Pomegranate (I did a review of the Apricot here) | Sugar Blom Shadow Box No. 2 Natural Bloom, Choco Wood Pencil | Red Orange Sun Pact Shade No. 2 (I did a review for SkinFood Red Orange Sun Pact in No. 1, now that I think about it, Shade No. 2 works better for me). I forgot to include the eyeliner and the mascara.

Oakley + Crizal Transitions = Love at First Sight

Sometime ago, I tried wearing contact lenses (because I couldn't let go of my Oakley Shades). I had some misadventures, plus my, my, it's making me late for work! Hah. So I gave up. It's back to my ol' ever reliable Oakley Prescription Eyeglasses since then.

Just before we went to the beach, I got myself refitted with Transitions lenses. I initially considered getting just the unbranded ones, about half the price, although a bit longer time to "transition", but they're not readily available. And that time, patience was not my virtue, so Crizal is it!

Crizal Transitions Lenses is a Photocromics Lenses brand by Essilor. Basically, Transitions lenses are clear indoors and at night. Once outdoors, they adapt spontaneously to varying light conditions.
In the photo above, there is an invisible Crizal hologram logo that shows up when it's exposed to light, and just when the lenses start to transition.

Oakley + Crizal Transitions Lenses = Nice-h! Instant Sunnies!  #Loveit
Will share the product features below, since, ye, I concur!
Produced by the world leaders in ophtlamic and photochromic lenses, Crizal Transitions lenses provide you with the optimum vision solution.
  • Perfectly clear indoors, they adapt spontaneously to changing light conditions, with a fast activation in the sun in less than 60 seconds.
  • 30% faster to fade back to their clear state and conveniently offer a great contrast perception though glare reduction in any light.
  • Provide you with the most enduring clarity of vision with the best resistance to scratches, smudge, water and dust as well as the optimal protection from harmful UV rays.
  • They offer higher light transmission than ordinary lenses*, enhancing your clarity of vision in any light.
See more at: Crizal Transitions Official Site
This is my second time to get Transitions lenses. I used to have it for my Burberry frame. But when I got a new frame, I did not want to spend extra. (And I wanted to wear shades.) I guess, it worked out for the better. I did spend Php 4500 for the Crizal Transitions Lenses in Ideal Vision, but it meant that I'll be wearing my Oakley Prescription longer, for the price I got them, which was over Php 10K, they sure are still alive worth it!. Plus, it also means taking tender loving care of my eyes (lesser Korean Drama marathons. hah!) to avoid refitting of lenses anytime soon. Think big savings. Huge. *Teehee Cheers! ^_^

Kawisori Korean Hair Salon Ortigas | Fave Place

Annyeong! ^_^

21st visit after, here's my rave review of Kawisori Salon.

Teehee, my boys have to concur, Korean Salon is the place to be. So happy to found such salon so close to home that we fell in love with.

Kawisori Korean Hair Salon Ortigas Center
Bonus time. Free haircut on the 21st visit. Ye, you can tell, my boys love Kawisori to bits.
Of the 20 so visits, mine accounts for only a visit. You ought to know I don't do haircut lately (Rapunzel, is it you?) since I like to keep it long and in a Ms. Universe bun. Oh well, but before my Seoul trip, I had it trimmed and styled. Nice-h! ^_^

Me, myself, and I. It's still straight (wavy) and layered, but got it styled after the haircut. That is why I love Korean hair salons, they do the best styling after the haircut. Read more of my #OOTD and #FOTD in Seoul.
Meet Sharon. She's an awesome Korean Hairstylist (she does everything in the salon), plus she speaks English. Make sure to book ahead. The place can be jam-packed, and it's closed every Thursday.
Busy, busy place. Is it a good day to get a perm? Sharon is all over the place, perming, cutting, styling. Name it, she does everything. Daebak! ^_^ Reminds me of a Korean Drama scene filled with ahjussis and ahjumonis oppas and agasshis.
Sorry for the photo quality, will get a better one next time. Women's Hair cut goes for Php 500, and Men's at Php 400.
Here's our Chaseyboy...

First photo (L) is the before. He has another after photo with the same before reaction. *Teehee Aissh, I swear, it's so hard to take his picture lately! #MommyBloggerWoes
Choose your fave Korean stars' hairstyle for a peg or inspiration. So whose style is it this time? I lost track already. Haha.

We love Kawisori, you can tell, right?

Kawisori Hair Salon in Ortigas is located at 8137 Plaza‎. St. Josemaria Escriva Drive (same compound as Jang Ga Nae Korean Restaurant).
