Novuhair 3-in-1 Pack Review

Sometime ago I was sent a Novuhair 3-in-1 Pack. I was looking forward to the experience. After my Tangled-inspired hair style, it's all long hair for me. I'd like to keep it a considerable length that allows me to do ombre, curls, high and big bun a la beauty queen etc. at my whim.  My hair is battered. Hah. But I do my share of caring for it with a lot of conditioner and treatment. I'm not ready to cut it short. Downside, there are days that my falling hair are on the high side of the average 30-50 strands per day. (There are days that I'm tempted to count, but I'm always running late. Haha!) That and thinning hair gene on my mom's side of the family, I'm sold to testing out Novuhair.

Hello Blue Eyes! {New User's Adventure on Contact Lenses}

For the love of my Oakley shades, I decided to try contact lenses. I love my Oakley prescription glasses too. But I think they need some refitting since they leave line marks on my cheeks. (Since I have high cheekbones, haha, or is my face getting plumper? Oh no! Then, bad fitting is it! Hah.) It pains me to buy a new pair for now. So instead, I tried getting fitted with contact lenses.

Flex Wear Radiance 2 in Sea Blue. and Acuvue Clear Contact Lenses.
It's not a walk in the park,  or a plug-and-play kind of happening. It takes time to get used to. Here's my beginner's/new user's guide to wearing contact lenses.

Win Awesome Goodies! {The Chic & Sassy Mom 4th Blogoversary Giveaway}

Hello everyone! Here's my giveaway post. But before that, here's a thought or two.

Time flies, when you're a fangirl superwoman. Please, indulge me. ;-D Amidst the hustle bustle of everyday living, everything is awesome. I like the word awesome, don't you? It's so positive. #GoodVibesOnly Life. Change. Embrace it. (Oh my goodness, did I just sound bitter?!) I'm not! I'm only human. But my, what keeps me going is knowing in my heart that we have a mighty, big God, hence small problems. Let's do this! Aja! Aja! Fighting! Haha. If you're following me on Twitter or Instagram, I like cheering myself to the tune of my Korean Dramas. They keep me sane going.

Anyhow, is it blog-o-versary or blog-i-versary? My blog took off from my first ever post about few of my favourite things, and the rest is history. Truly, I wish I can do better...more frequent, interesting, and relevant posts. But I'm grateful for this space, so whether I reach a reader or two, I hope to be of some assistance. Or comfort, if you stumble on my Seoul-ful, Korean Drama posts. Tee hee.

Oh, one more thing, before the giveaway post.... I love media events and press kits, but lately, I cannot attend events. For the weekend, it's family time, or  "me" time. But please, keep sending the invites and kits my way, I will find time to share posts and press releases relevant to me and to my blog readers. Thank you for your trust. I put my heart on my blog post. Some things I cannot write about because I'm bound by some COI (conflict of interest) clauses at work. Also, I like to keep my blog post mostly on positive things, ravings here and there, things that I like, and my favourite things, which are a lot! *Think Adam Levine of The Voice ^_* I have so much more to share, I will find time. Besides, if I'm not a drama girl, I'm mostly a superwoman, I can do this!

Okay, that's all for the thoughts. Now back to the giveaway post.

One (1) Chic and Sassy Reader will take home these awesome goodies inclusive of a Full size Bath and Body Works Sleep Aromatherapy Body and Foam Wash (I love this!), an EOS (evolution of smooth) lotion, Orly Perfect French Nail Polish Duo Kit, Ocean Potion Instant Dy Mist Sunblock, Watsons Hair Treatment Wax, a Denman Brush (Popper Brush with Mirror), Schwarzkopf Palette Color Creme in Medium Brown and a Finesse Extra Hold Hair Spray.

Thank you for your love. Cheers! ^_^

P.S. Some of the goodies (BBW, Orly, EOS) are few of my shopping finds on my last US trip. The rest are from the press kits. I'm sharing them with you. I hope you will love them as much as I do.

Mother's Day Weekend | Hong Kong Adventure Part 2

Ni Hao! ^_^ Oh my, time flies when you're having fun. #Fighting #AjaAja

Here's part 2 of our Hong Kong adventure.

Hong Kong Museum of Art
It's Mother's Day celebration in Hong Kong. Yay! After breakfast and checking out in Novotel, we're ready to walk sight see. We left our stuff in the concierge, our flight was the last flight out via Philippine Airlines (10 pm), but we will be picked up from the hotel around 5pm, so we had time to explore.  From Novotel, Tsim Sha Tsui is a train ride from Jordan Station, which is the nearest MTR station to us. Fare was about 20 HKD for the three of us.

It was still quite a walk trom Tsim Sha Tsui station to the Hong Kong Museum, Avenue of Stars and the Victoria Harbour waterfront. You know how I am, I don't exercise. Hah. After catching my breath, I was ready for the pictorials. Haha.

Art Square, Salisbury Garden Hong Kong Museum of Art
This reminds us of the Chicago Bean. Waterdrop steel sculpture representing heaven.
Big Apple
With the Happy Folks.
Happy Days are made of this! #FamBam in Hong Kong
It's a beautiful day in Hong Kong. Walking from one end to another from the Victoria Harbour waterfront will take you to the Avenue of the Stars and the Harbour City in Canton Road.

Spider-Man in Harbour City
Canton Road in Kowloon is the place to be for shopping and sightseeing. So it's agreed, should we ever go back to Hong Kong (I hope soon and not in another 10 years), we will be staying in this area. It's home to Chanel, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Gucci and a whole lot more. Let's save!

Line at Chanel. There was a line at the Prada Store too. I was tempted, perhaps next time.
After a very long walk, we're pleasantly tired. Time for lunch. Not feeling adventurous, we went to the first familiar restaurant we saw. Pizza Hut.

The pizza is for a Cheesy Pops Family Size. Total Bill in Pizza Hut Hong Kong was $411 HKD about Php 2300.  Ouch.  Lunch Buffet in Novotel would have been more like it for just a hundred more dollars.
Anyhow, time to go back. We're recharged so we thought will walk some more. We walked back to Novotel, it was another very long walk. We stopped by some shops (Nike, again!!!) And we're almost back to the hotel. Just one last stop at Sasa, Saigon Road.

The biggest Sasa I've been in Hong Kong is the one located at the corner of Nathan Road and Saigon Street near Novotel.
Since we're already checked out, it's just the lobby and the common restrooms for us to freshen up. I asked the hotel, but they don't have any place to camp. Sad. We had more time to spare, but was just too tired to walk some more. This is the part I missed Manila, where spas are here and there. Chase kept himself entertained with the play area in the hotel with computer and video game access. Soon, it was time to leave for the hotel.

Hong Kong International Airport. Extremely Bad weather = Delayed flights
Instead of 10pm, we left around 2 am, it's was the roughest flight ever! We made it to Manila, thankfully.

Goodies from Hong Kong. Kit Kat Green Tea from the Airport Store. Bee Cheng Hiang Pork Jerky and Pork Floss from Bee Cheng Hiang Mongkok, and now my son's fave Nin Jiom Herbal Candy Apple Longan from Mannings Store in the Airport.
Home sweet home. Hubby got another pair of Nike Kobe 9 and more Nike shirts. Chase got a Minecraft book. I didn't get anything! Praise, I was a mighty good girl!

It's a short but oh so sweet stay in Hong Kong. Hope to be back soon! Cheers! ^_^

Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament Chicago Castle

#TGIF Here's another belated post from our Chicago trip.

Side story. A colleague asked me last time what's my favorite restaurant in Manila. I paused. I realized, oh my, this is like being asked how do I like my eggs. For a time, back then, I was not resolute. Since I'm so easy to please and I have a hearty appetite, I just make do with whatever is available or convenient (except for sunny side up, which I don't really like). Overtime, I made sure to be able to answer that with full conviction, so now, I like ham and cheese omelet. Or just well done (fried). Another slam book question, which also for a time took me a while to answer...what's my favorite movie? I like Blue Crush (not just because it's the first movie I watched by myself since I was waiting for my bf's flight to arrive but also it's really sweet, heartwarming, and Kate Bosworth is really pretty). Anyhow about the restaurant, I realized, I'm not sure. Does a buffet counts? I know for sure it's Spiral Manila. Hmmm, for a restaurant? Could it be Pho Hoa? Or Jang Ga Nae? It need not be expensive. I'm still undecided.

I went home and over dinner I asked my boys, Chase said he likes Medieval Times the most. I told him just in the Philippines, he told me right away, it's Akira. My husband likes TGIFriday's. Wow, I like to think it again that I'm just so easy to please, instead of being fickle or indecisive. Hah. So now, I'm on a quest to find my favorite restaurant in the metro. I will let you know.

Back to Medieval Times. A friend surprised us to a dinner in Medieval Times in Chicago. My goodness, I will not spoil the fun, so I will keep myself from revealing so much photos. We had the grandest time!

We were seated at the first-row, center section, so we really had the nicest view. The Royal Dinner was fun and sumptuous (Baby Dragons etc.). ^_* Indeed, the Knights' Tournament as the main spectacle for visit was truly an affair to remember. Promise. *Thinks A Knight's Tale Aye! It's entertainment at its finest. Since I love costumes and themed events, I'm captivated. Can we go to London yet to visit the Queen? It pays to be a cheerleader, fan girl, and a Kapampangan at heart, I made sure to cheer the loudest. I even got a flower  (pink carnation) from the knight, haha. Anyhow, our Knight won! So it made it even more exciting for all of us.

We had the grandest time. Thank you.

To be continued...

Korean Drama Time: Lee Joon Gi, My Joseon Gunman

Annyeonghaseyo! ^_^ Is it June 25 yet? Lee Joon Gi is coming to town, I wish! KBS World. *HappyDance

The pre-show campaigns are in full swing. I'm in...all in! Look!

Joseon Gunman or Gunman in Joseon in KBS Drama Synopsis: In the time of enlightenment, a battle between a sword and a gun has started.  Based in the time of enlightenment of 17th-century Joseon, "Gunman in Joseon" tells the story of Joseon's last swordsman named Park Yoon Kang, who grabs a gun ditching his sword, and grows to become the era's hero.

Awww. Pretty Boy, Flower Boy, plus a whole lot more...he acts superbly, sings, and dances so well too (believe it, search for Lee Joon Gi does Gangnam Style). He's such a versatile actor, he does rom com, drama, and action flawlessly from one character to another.

Thanks to him, I still have a major second lead syndrome in My Girl. I love him in Iljimae. As Satto in Arang and the Magistrate, my goodness... *Swoon He can be the sweetest dad too in Two Weeks.

Joseon Gunman serves as a reunion drama with the OTP of Time Between Dog and Wolf. Although I'm not really a big fan of the pairing, but the story is very, very interesting, and with Lee Joon Gi's another stellar performance, I'm hooked! As a romantic, the OTP's great chemistry draws me in. I hope this will not disappoint.

As a bonus, Lee Joon Gi does spectacular fan service. I'm a happy fangirl. He's in Twitter, and Weibo. He does so personally, methinks. Super A for efforts!!

Watch the teaser. Let's go for 100K views. Game!

You can tell that I'm hopelessly devoted to Lee Joon Gi, can't you? I need to make it to his fan meeting, very soon! Aha! I just found another inspiration to stay employed. Cheers! ^_^

Stuff on My Mind {Random}

Annyeong! ^_^ June, June, far, so good!

Know that I'm grateful (but of course!) on how things are turning out to be despite of... #AjaAja #Fighting

Anyhow...let's do this! June in fact marks my 4th Year Blogoversary. Wow! I remember how I used to celebrate every milestone, big or small in my blog, by hosting giveaways, but lately, it dwindled as I don't blog as much. But yes, I owe everyone a giveaway! Please stay tuned.

In fairness, still I do take time to update my Instagram and Twitter (@chicsassymom). I'm liking more and more those social network platforms, even Weibo too (thanks to Lee Joon Gi)!

Here are some highlights of my quest to more happier days.

1} My fave #FOTD to date using Bare Minerals from last time.
2} I love almonds especially the ones from Trader Joe's. I use it for Chicken Salad for that added crisp/texture. I like it on my ice cream. I like it by itself. So yes, I want more.
3}Marco Polo Hotel in Ortigas Cheese, Fruit, and Nuts Platter. Yum.
4}Awesome press kit from Myra Vita Glow BB Cream. I love, love, love the personalised makeup brush kit. Des is it! Plus I'm trying out Myra Vital Glow BB Cream in Ivory Shade. Review and FOTD post soon.
5}More Marco Polo Hotel ravings on the Nespresso, the indoor (almost) infinity pool, and the room-service for my boys.
6}Korean Delivery from Seoul Restaurant in Escriva Drive, Ortigas Center. Formerly Happy 6 Days Korean Restaurant. New owner, new name, almost same menu. Mashiseo boyeoyo!
7}Late post on our SFO travel in Palace of Fine Arts. *Thinks The Rock movie
8}Argan Oil for my skin. I love. #MustHave #MustTry
9}Lee Joon Gi. I'm addicted to him (in fact, more to him than Lee Min Ho and Jang Geun Suk)! I have to see him soon! Ottoke?)
10} I had a new dresser, so I had to organize.
11} Lastly, after gaining back most of my weight loss from our recent US vacation, I'm back to subscribing to 1200 Calorie-Diet Plan. Now on Plan Eat Program. So far, so good.

A post or more daily in IG or Twitter is something very workable for me. So please, indulge me, take time to follow me on those platforms as well. Let's celebrate #HappyDays! Cheers! ^_^

Hong Kong Adventure Part 1

Ni Hao! ^_^ Oh Hello Hong Kong!
Hong Kong Harbour View via Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront.
#LatePost (again!) Our last trip to HK prior to this was years back. We were all so looking forward to this trip. It's my son's first. But since we just got back from our US vacation, no more vacation leaves for me (oh my!!!), it meant we only had weekend to spend in HK. So we took the Friday last flight out last via Philippine Airlines. Thinking it will just be a very short trip, we were surprised. The weather outside was frightful, it was a very turbulent flight. We were delayed.

We made it to HK. It's already midnight. The immigration was quite something. It took hours.

Angel Eyes Korean Drama Time

Annyeonghaseyo! ^_^ Oh wow! It's been a while since I did a #KDrama post, last Korean Drama post was months ago.  But yes, long live the brilliant creators and cast of Korean Dramas! I'm sane surviving de-stressed!

If you're a fan (or basher) of Geum Jan Di, you will be happy to know that Gu Hye Sun is so back. Finally. Pretty hairdo. Good acting. One of the best chemistry of the OTP. Beautiful soundtrack to boot. Angel Eyes, count me in!

OTP of Angel Eyes played by Gu Hye Sun and Lee Sang Yoon. Nam Ji Hyeon (Young Soo-wan) and Kang Ha-Neul (of Heirs as Young Dong Joo)
The younger cast paved the way for a truly beautiful beginning. The adult cast can only step up. Truthfully, I haven't seen Lee Sang Yoon in any drama yet, but now, I'm a fan. Last drama I saw Gu Hye Sun (not counting the re-runs of Boys Over Flowers) was from The Musical. It's fine, but not on top of my to re-watch list. Her recent, Take Care of Us, Captain, I did not watch.  So I was pleasantly surprised to see her back in Angel Eyes. My curiosity was piqued because it was supposed to have Lee Joon-Gi, but instead the role went to Lee Sang Yoon. I'm glad to meet Lee Sang Yoon.

Beautiful. Love, love, love.
The love story premise of the drama comes with a complicated back sob story, but still with a lot of heart, giddy moments with the beautifully cast OTP. And a very solid supporting cast, and watcheable side stories, I just watched Episode 15 (5 more to go as it's slated for a 20 Episode Drama). I'm hoping for a happy ending. I wish I can do recaps, since Angel Eyes (and Hotel King) is a delight to watch every week. Personally, this is Gu Hye Sun at her best. She shines in this role. Thank goodness dramaland for finally giving her a nice hair do to don. And Lee Sang Yoon, my goodness, (where have you been all my life?),  I'm truly, madly, deeply a big fan. I need to see you in a rom com (and I want dimples too!)

Angel Eyes Korean Drama Cast.
It's a romantic melodrama. I'm glued. Angel Eyes is about Yoon Soo-wan (Nam Ji Hyeon/Gu Hye Su) losing and gaining her sight. The back story of her blindness and corneal transplant links her to Park Dong-Joo (Kim Ha-Neul/Lee Sang Yoon). I'm leaving you with a music video of the beautiful, addictive soundtrack (yes it's in English, no need for subtitles and romanization! Happy Dance!) of Angel Eyes. Run to You by Lasse Lindh...♬I'm run, run, running to you♫ *LSS

This fangirl finds inspiration in almost everything Seoul-ful. Rest assured that I'm still hopelessly devoted to the K-dramaland. Dramas complete me. Hah. In fact, I'm levelling up...Hello Skycable Korean Pack 2! Yay! I'll keep this post short and sweet, since we're once again pleasantly tired for another exciting weekend, work & play at Marco Polo Hotel Ortigas (will try to post soon).

Are you watching it? Any recommendations on what dramas to watch with Lee Sang Yoon? Is he as good as he's playing Park Dong-Joo?  Cheers! ^_^ #Soju
