Haul: Ralph Lauren Polo Shirts

#TGIF ;-D Here's a novelized post of my recent Ralph Lauren Outlet Store shopping. Happy Birthday to me! For real, for my 2012 birthday, I went on outlet shopping spree from one area (Ontario Mills) to another (Cabazon). ;-D Oh my, it's a great day to shop last time as most stores were offering further reductions and additional discounts. Although, some of the items, like the classic RL polo shirts for men and kids were on regular outlet store selling prices, still lower than retail's but still pricey. It seemed that it's just my day then to shop, so here goes my victorious Ralph Lauren outlet shopping.

Skinny Fit Ralph Lauren Polo Shirts for female (not on male or kids) were on amazing after-Christmas Sale. As in, half the price. So I bought 5, then 2 more after. Here's a blue RL embroidered Pony logo on Red Polo Shirt.
Color availability comes in fancy color names. But I will just go for the basic colors in this post. Here's what I had...Pink Pony on Green. Yellow Pony on Purple, Purple Pony on Yellow, Red Pony on Blue, Yellow Pony on Pink, Pink Pony on Grey. There were limited colors available, black or white was not even available.  I visited a retail Ralph Lauren Store,  there were more color combinations available.
For a Skinny Fit Ralph Lauren Polo, you have a two-button placket.
Button with a Ralph Lauren notation. This button from the blue and grey shirts are a bit on the silvery/greyish shade.  While most are pearl white color.
Here are more details on Skinny Polo Ralph Lauren shirts. Please note that the skinny-fit comes out really body fit, so I had to go for a size bigger.  #JustSaying *LoL Basically, this is Made in Peru. And it has The Skinny Polo label on top of the Ralph Lauren label. Outlet Price sells for $60+, plus more discounts. Few days after, in Carlsbad Outlet Stores, price was even further reduced. But I already had most of the colors available.
Photos above detail on identifying an authentic Skinny Ralph Lauren Polo Shirts. I can't compare it with a copy, but I buy export overruns from other brands, you can tell that there was something off about them... threads are loose, stitches are uneven, buttons are not nicely sown, etc.

The material is comfy and durable. Plus has a good fit, not too tight or loose, just right. I do take extra measures to care for them, like I don't hang them. And I just don't carelessly throw them at the laundry basket. Polo shirts are my field day outfit, plus my weekend go-to outfits. I wish I'm more into dresses, into floral outfits and all, but I'm more a basic tee kind of gal. Oh my precious polo shirts! *LoL

...with my Little man. ;-D
Overall, you ought to know that I'm such a loyalist to a brand, and even to a style that I really like. It's usual for me to collect colors of the same style. So it seems, I'll be getting more of these, if the price is right! Also, I'm really hoping to catch great deals for my hubby and son too. One can never have too many Ralph Lauren Polo Shirts. Cheers! ;-D

McDonald's Kiddie Crew 2013

Hello Summer! ;-D Chase, my 7-year old son, will have his hands full with fun activities to do for the summer (otherwise it's Minecraft, and XBox360 forever...tsk tsk). In fairness, the recent school year was pretty challenging for both of us, so yay, it's grand vacation for me him this summer break. Here's something I would want him to do... join the McDonald's Kiddie Crew Workshop.

Sign up for this year’s McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop 2013.

Now on its 21st year, McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop is a 5-day summer program specially designed for kids ages 6-12 years to enjoy and learn through different activities.  Kiddie Crew members will get to experience on-floor restaurant activities like greeting customers and assisting the crew at the drive-thru and front counters, showcase their skills through creative art workshops, and learn the importance of hard work, discipline and teamwork, through values formation lessons. Most of all, it’s a time to meet other kids and make new friends over the summer!
Registration fee of P550 also includes shirt, cap, bag, ID lace, apron and meals for the kids.  Meals will also  be provided during the 5 day-workshop.
It's my dream to be a McDo Kiddie Crew, but we didn't had the chance. Sad. (Drama song playing). To make my dream come true c/o of Chase (*LoL), I registered here

Visit McDonald's Kiddie Workshop 2013 website for more details on how to join, participating McDonald's branches, etc. Registration is ongoing through April 30, 2013. It's per batches, and applications are subject to qualifications and screening. Hurray for Summer! Cheers!

Love: Benefit Cosmetics Bella Bamba

Oh. So. Pretty. This is my first Benefit Box-o-Powder blush (better late than sorry). It's love at first try, and now I want to hoard buy a whole lot more.

Bella Bamba 3D Pink retails for $28+, but I got it as part of The Pretty Committee Set

Product Features: The triple dimension of pin...brightening, sculpting, and defining. Amplify cheekbones and create the illusion of sculpted features with this 3D watermelon blush. Laced with shimmering gold undertones, bella bamba takes eye-popping pretty to the third'll never use traditional blush again!
Swatches from the Benefit Cosmetics The Pretty Committe Collection. Stay Don't Stray, Eye Bright, Bella Bamba, High Beam
On me. Blended. #FOTD Eye makeup used: Benefit Cosmetics Stay Don't Stray/  Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette Vanilla, Midnight 15, Midnight Rodeo, M.I.A./ Majolica Majorca Brow and Lash Colorist, Benefit Cosmetics They're Real Mascara
At the onset, it looks bright watermelon pink, but once blended, it's a fabulous pinkish blush. Depending on the overall look you want to create, you can put it on heavy, or just a nice touch of pink. It's very pigmented, so you can build on the level of pinkness you like to achieve. The subtle shimmers add ups to that glowing prettiness. It has superb lasting power too.The accompanying blusher brush is perfect. It has the nice shape that perfectly contours your cheeks when sweeping on the apples of the cheeks. So application is easy. Plus it has that lovely sent too. For the perfect, classic gorgeous pink cheeks. This is it! ;-D

Me. Myself. I #Instagram #FOTD I wore makeup everyday, since I'm a SAHM No More. So yes,  this is my go-to blush .
I'll keep it sweet and short, this is a must have! Seriously worth it! A box seems to last me a long time, I've been using it for quite a while now, more often than not, my daily go-to blush, but there's barely any dents yet. Although, I would like to try other shades of Benefit Cosmetics boxed blushes, so I will be shopping soon. Cheers! ;-D

Seoul-ful Haul:Innisfree

Annyeong! ^^ Oh my! I can't get enough of Lee Min Ho Innisfree! Love much! So when I had a chance, I made sure to ask a friend to get me more stuff from Seoul. The Innisfree Jejubija Anti-trouble Foams and Skin (toner), as refills which are staple to my current skin care routine. Seriously addicted! My shopping list included also the full size of Eco-Science Wrinkle Spot Essence, plus the new Soybean Firming Serum.

Innisfree Overload! Oh happy day! ;-D
Innisfree Eco-Science Wrinkle Spot Essence Gift Set. Comes with Eye Mask and miniatures. I've been hoarding samples/trial packs, so it's high time I get the full size. Yay! ;-D I use this to reinforce eye creams. Will work on a review post soon. This sells for 33,000 KRW, free eye masks and samples upon availability of promotion.

Samples: Innisfree Soybean Firming Serum. I wanted to get the full size of this, which sells for 32,000 KRW. Sadly, it's out of stock in an Innisfree Seoul branch!!! Hah! Sad!
Innisfree Bestsellers: Soybean Firming Serum, Green Tea Seed Serum, Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask, Eco-Science Wrinkle Spot Essence

Innisfree, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways...I'm such an avid patron of the brand, I find ways to get hold of these. Available option is to get it from my fave Korean eBay seller, pre-order even. Or ask my ever supportive friends to get my stash from Seoul. Or last time, I went to Seoul. ;-D I almost had 4 of 5 of the Bestsellers. Olive Real Line seems not really for my skin type. So I might skip it. But I have samples, so I will try.

My updated skin care routine for Quarter 1 of 2013 is Innisfree-laden! It's Jejubija Anti-trouble line, day and night. Plus I incorporate an additional moisturizing cream or serum, since December 2012, I'm using the Green Tea Seed Serum. I'm almost out of it that's why I would have wanted to get the Soybean Firming Serum. For the mean time, I'll use the Innisfree samples available at my disposal (which are a lot! ;-D). I use an eye cream, I still love SkinFood Platinum Grape Cell Eye Cream, plus the Innisfree Eco-Science Wrinkle Spot Essence. I have yet to try the Soybean Firming Serum, please do watch out for the review.

Saranghaeyo! ;-D

Review: Innisfree Olive Real Cleansing Tissue

Annyeonghaseyo! I love Lee Min Ho Innisfree! Although, I'm forever loyal to its Jejubija Anti-Trouble Line, and rarely adventurous when it comes to trying out skin care products, but with Innisfree, I'm more than willing to explore other lines. For my December Seoul Shopping, I got Olive Real Cleansing samples as gifts with purchase. From last time, I already finished a full size pack of the cleansing tissues, so here goes a belated post. ;-D
Miniatures/Travel Sizes: Innisfree Olive Real Cleansing Foam, Oil and Tissue
Innisfree Olive Real Cleansing Tissue 30 ct sells for 5000 KRW. With 30 count Cleansing Tissues.  Resealable, and  comes with Hard Plastic Lid Cover.
Innisfree Olive Real Cleansing Tissue: Product Features: With its rich, moisturizing ingredients and vitamin nutrients from the finest organicaly grown olives, this cleansing tisuue easily removes and cleanses makeup and impurities and moisturize your skin.

Before and After.
My measure of efficacy of any makeup cleansing wipes is if it can remove Majolica Majorca Mascara with minimal swiping. You ought to know that Majolica Majorca Mascara lines are true to their water proof, smudge free, and lasting claims! ;-D Also, The Face Shop FaceIt Collagen Eyeliner needs also extra cleansing step, as it can't be remove by facial wash alone. And yes, these wipes do their job with minimal effort.

Before and After. Eye makeup overload.
For a full eye makeup (the works!) removal, I use two tissues. One for full removal, one for under the eye. I use one under the eye, to reinforce mascara removal, also not to transfer makeup to the skin. But on usual everyday makeup removal, one tissue is enough.

Innisfree Olive Real Cleansing Tissues.
  • In terms of efficacy, works as well as my preferred eye makeup remover,SkinFood Seaweed Waterproof Point Makeup Remover Tissue
  • No sting.
  • No irritations.
  • Best Love...No cloudy vision!
  • Soft, yet durable
  • Nice Citrus-y scent.
  • Affordability. 30 wipes for 5000 KRW ($4+ or Php 180+), nice! ;-D
  • It's Olive-based, so yes, it's oily. So you need a good facial wash cleanser to remove any residues. It's  fine by me really since I'd prefer to rinse-off. Rinse-off, can't be leave on.
  • Availability, Innisfree is not yet officially available in my sunny Philippines except through online sellers.
Overall, since it proves to be effective in removing my eye makeup mascara woes, plus have the Innisfree natural and organic goodness, I like it. I recommend it to those who need an effective and efficient waterproof makeup remover. It's not recommended to those who prefer water-based and no need to rinse-off cleansing products. Will I repurchase? Yes, I like the soft material vs. SkinFood's Seeweed Wipes.

Please stay tuned for my review (hopefully sooner) of the Innisfree Olive Real Cleansing Foam and Oil. ;-D

Saranghaeyo! ;-D

Now Collecting: Benefit Cosmetics

Oh. Happy. Day.  You ought to know that I am such a hoarder, and a loyalist. I'm such an avid patron of some brands. I tend to buy the same thing over and over again. And yay, I finally found a makeup brand that I will hoard love...Benefit Cosmetics! ;-D

It all started with a complimentary They're Real Travel Size Mascara from Benefit Cosmetics Philippines at Rustan's Shangri-la. I frequent the Benefit Brow Bar, and I was able to get one. Thanks. ;-D Not to preempt my overdue review post, I love this. It's my foremost reason to visiting several Sephora branches all over California last time.
Benefit Cosmetics They're Real Travel Size Mascara. Full size sells for $23+
Benefit Cosmetics The Pretty Committee Collection Set at Sephora $38+
So pretty. It's from Sephora Downtown Disney. This kit comes with a full size Bella Bamba Blush, full size Eye Bright, full size Stay Don't Stray, and a travel size High Beam. Savings galore! I wish I bought the other value set offering at other Sephora branches. For a value set, it seems to be different per branch, or perhaps limited stocks per kind, although you have the standard Benefit Cosmetics Sephora-Exclusive Kits. I can't help it, after months of using them (review soon! ;-D), I want more. So I asked a friend to get me just about anything Benefit from Sephora.

How to Look The Best at Everything Benefit Comes Set $30+
This kit comes with travel sizes/miniatures of The POREfessional , Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow SPF 25 PA+++ in "Cheers To Me" Champagne (light kit), Boi-ing in 01 and 02, "Hello Flawless!" in "Me, Vain?" Champagne. I'm crossing my fingers that I'm Light, and not Medium. Hah. But I did swatch everything last time, and my my, I they look pretty! ;-D

Here's the sign of addiction deal, I want more of those box blushes, regardless of shades. I want Benetint, more Sephora-Exclusive Kits, or I wish for more Collection Kits with more full sizes a la their recent Holiday 2012 Gift Sets. Is there a summer set? Sale anytime soon? I will be back for more serious blogging on these lovely stuff from Benefit Cosmetics. Cheers! ;-D

It's Safety First!

I love being a stage mom. Although it's no walk in the park, but only on those challenges that I celebrate/d victories. So it's exponentially rewarding! In fact, this blog was born out of my then stay-at-home parenting adventures plus my stage mothering. *LoL Although I'm now back to corporate employment, it's all the same to me, as they say, a working mother is redundant!

Our Pride and Joy ;-D
My friends will know that I am to the highest level OC (Obsessive Compulsive) when it comes to my son's safety. In fact, my brother in law nicknamed me germ patrol. Why won't I be such, when I have for a sister who is a Hospital Infection Control Consultant, she sees germs everywhere!  *LoL For that we use as much as possible hospital-grade disinfectant, alcohol etc. So my son develops a habit of saying "hand gel please!" ;-D

Mom and Chase
You see, he's our only child, and the first born on both sides of the family. So over-protectiveness is a family affair. When he was born, we had to leave him a week in the hospital's NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). Sad. It's my first heartbreak as a mom! On his third month, I had no nanny for those first three months, that time, on what could have been me just being really tired and sleepy, I doze off, had a momentary deep sleep, and suddenly woke up, and panicked and mistook him as not breathing. Parenting books speak off SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), and to my paranoia, I felt it was the case. We rushed him in the middle of the night to the ER and had his first X-ray. He was just sleeping soundly. Hah. ;-D So there you see, I painted quite a picture of my OC-ness. It runs deep. Haha. So when it comes to my son, I am always on my toes...Safety first above all else, and I never did fully learn to loosen up. In fact, I can't wholeheartedly let my now 7-yr old son play football because he gets so tired, and dirty, and it's under the sun, and it's so dusty...yada yada.  I rationalize it by saying it triggers his allergic rhinitis. You get what I mean? Yes, I can be that kill joy OC.

Fret not, I let him play outdoor too!  In fact, for the summer, he's up for Karatedo,  Swimming, and Basketball. ;-D
I relish being actively involved in his formative years, partnering with the school in his development from then as a stay-at-home-mom, up to present. It's such a second nature, that even today when I'm back to corporate employment as a Customer Business Development Manager (a.k.a. Sales and Marketing gal), we committed to still be actively highly engaged in his new school. For holistic learning to take place, we are a proponent of home, school and community collaboration for Early Child Education .You can say that I/we make it a career to have an active role in the Parent Association. *LoL  (I can *LoL in this post but believe me when I say that this is no easy task, it' really a career. As in we invest serious time in attending board meetings, and actively taking part in school and student affairs, we proudly say... It's for the love of our boys!) ;-D

Partnering with our Son's School as Level Couple Representatives. Grade 1 Family Day SY 2012-2013

Cirque Du Soleil: World's Away Exclusively at Megaworld Lifestyle Malls

Last Saturday, March 2, we were invited to attend (Thank you! ;-D) the exclusive advanced screening of Cirque Du Soleil: Worlds Away at the Newport Mall Cinema in Resorts World Manila.  Megaworld Lifetsyle Malls, in partnership with Inside Showbiz treated movie lovers and enthusiasts of the internationally acclaimed contemporary circus entertainment a special screening of the much-awaited 3D adventure film of the year.

Cirque Du Soleil (Circus of the Sun): Worlds Away in 3D  is the highly-anticipated film adaptation of the  world -famous show from Canada.  Watch it exclusively at Eastwood City, Lucky Chinatown, and Newport Mall Cinemas beginning March 6.
I have a confession to make, I haven't had the privilege to see the recent two shows of Cirque du Soleil in Manila, Varekai in 2011, and Saltimbanco in 2012.  My latest Circus show from an international production was years years ago. So I was truly excited to finally see an adaptation of it. A friend who's a big fan of Cirque asked me if it's worth it. Here's my take, in terms of comparison from the any live production shows, I can't say for sure. But, it's 3D technology at its finest! Thanks to the state-of-the-art 3D cinemas of Newport Mall, one of the Megaworld Lifestyl Malls, the experience was even more engaging and  truly immersive.  The circus acts are wow! Amazing. Breathtaking. Now, I need to watch a show soon!

The story is about Mia (Erica Linz) in search of her new love, the Aerialist (Igor Zaripov). Separated by an unfortunate accident during a carival circus, the instant young couple find themselves looking for each other amidst the fascinating and the surreal worlds of Cirque du Solel. The journey brings together the unforgettable scenes and characters from the successful shows including O, Mystère, Kà, Love, Zumanity, Viva Elvis and Criss Angel Believe.  If you're a newbie to the world of Cirque, some parts actually reminded me of the whimsical fanfare of the movie Across the Universe.

The show's grand finale is their reunion, which is highlighted by an aerial courtship. Wow! For a moment, I want to be a ballerina, a gymnast, an aerialist, a figure skater, and so on. Artful and graceful. So nice. And yes, it feels good to be young, and in love! ;-D

Catch Cirque Du Soleil: Worlds Away 3D 2013 Manila Screening
Watch Circue Du Soleil:Worlds Away 3D exclusively in one of the state-of-the-art 3D cinemas of the Megaworld Lifestyle Malls...Eastwood City, Lucky Chinatown or Resorts World Manila. Opens March 6, 2013. For inquiries, call the Concierge at 709-0888 or 709-9888, or visit

First Impression: Beauty & Butter's Paraffin Treatment with Mani and Pedi

TGIF! It's March, and I'm back! ^_^ Allow me to collect my thoughts, to find my blogging groove back with a post of my happy time!

Beauty & Butter Nails, Face, and Art Salon
I had it a couple of weeks' ago after our US trip. It's a welcome treat. Back story, I twisted my ankle last time, it went away for a time, but I feel that it's still sore, I was being adventurous and was always curious about a paraffin wax treatment,  so for Php 999, I availed Beauty & Butter's package of Foot & Hand Paraffin with Mani and Pedi.

Depileve's Paraffin Hydra System.
1) Hands are cleansed with Depileve's Dermo Spray.
2) Exfoliated using a choice of Depileve's DermoPeel, which is a gentle, natural exfoliaters to remove impurities and dead cells, maximising the benefits of the treatment.
3)The Collagen Elastin Plus, which is a luscious, non-greasy emulsion enriched with Collagen and Elastin to deeply moisturise and regenerate, is then applied with a relaxing massage.
4) After the paraffin dip, and removal of paraffin, Hand Cream is applied to continue the moisturising effects of the treatment and to help maintain your skin's natural protective barrier.
Foot soak first prior to applying the Depileve's Paraffin Hydra System steps mentioned above. Now for the Paraffin wax, from the Depileve's website, I reckon that this is a Peach Paraffin. For my foot, they used the Lavendar Essential Oil Paraffin, which is purplish. My nail polish needed to dry so I couldn't document the foot paraffin. Hah.
The Paraffin Dip: After Step 1to 3, the hands/feet are then dipped into the Depileve paraffin wax bath 5 times until the wax takes on the look of a glove. Then the hands/feet are placed in toweling mitts/socks while you relax for 15 minutes. It takes a while getting used to the temperature of the wax, of course it's hot! So you have to do it gradually, yes about 5 times, until you get used to it. And I reckon, I needed to do it, and linger on the dip longer especially on my ankle. It's nice!

After some time, the paraffin is then removed and disposed of, and the treatment is finished with the application of a choice of Depileve's Hand Creams.
Claim of Paraffin Treatments: It's during the relaxation stage after the dip and the wrap, that your muscles really begin to release tension they may be holding and the skin on the hands become rehydrated. When the treatment is over your hands will feel silky, smooth and soft, and you will notice a revitalized skin tone and deeply relaxed muscles. Credit:Source

My hands and feet are truly soft, and moisturized. And the mani and pedi followed. For Orly nail polish, I added Php 80 more. I was in need of lucky color Red, so I went for Orly's Monroe's Red.
NOTD: Orly's Monroe's Red
After the paraffin treatments, your skin is uber moisturized, the nail polish took a while to dry. So you have to really have a lot of time to spare in the salon. It's ultimate "Me" time, you can't rush! ^^ And best of all, I love and appreciate the Beauty & Butter's first complimentary touch-up within 3-days of your mani/pedi. Nice! ;-D

Overall, the place is almost always full. That time, I had to return after 30 minutes. It must be such a hip salon, that Divine Lee and friends were there. Manicure & Pedicure is priced at Php 350, but this only includes ordinary polish, for Orly, you have to add Php 80. I have yet to try their basic Mani & Pedi, and I will let you know. But for the paraffin treatment, it's love at first try. There was actually a realized soothing of the muscle pains. I highly recommend trying the paraffin treatment. I will go back for more, it seems the foot and hand spa with mani and pedi package for Php 999 is very popular. But I will have to qualify it more in the future because another nail salon offers the same package at lesser cost. So far, so good! Cheers! ;-D

Beauty & Butter is located at the 5th Floor, Bridgeway of SM Megamall.
