A Day at Harry Potter World at Universal Studios Hollywood | #ChicSassyMomTravels *PixHeavy

We spent a Friday in Universal Studios just to see The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Last time we visited was a long time ago, so no Hogwarts yet, and son was still a little boy so he was not able to ride big boys' rides. I've always wanted to go back because I'm a big Harry Potter fan. We missed visiting Universal Studios the last time we were in Japan. Timely, that we have a day to spare in Los Angeles to come by and visit the park again. It was short but oh so scorching hot sweet.

We planned for an early start. We made sure that the first thing to do is to see The Harry Potter World.

Welcome to Hogsmeade
Hogsmeade is the picturesque all-wizarding village. It is host to magical and enchanting cottages and shops.

I came here for the Butterbeer. ๐ŸบThere are two options, iced or frozen. We tried both. I preferred the iced better. For us Filipinos, it is reminiscent of Peter's Butter Ball Candy. Yum.

Ollivanders Wands. Inside you can shop for replica wands of your favorite character or get your own, and more fun-filled interactive experiences of learning and reciting spells.
Honeydukes is a place to shop for magical sweets and treats.
Three Broomstick is the featured themed restaurant at Hogsmeade
I can spend hours roaming around Hogsmeade. It's such an awesome experience especially if you are a Harry Potter fan. The deal though was we went on a bad day ๐Ÿ™‰, there's a heatwave in LA that was setting record-high temperature. So we had to quickly go through the motion of just getting the visit over. It's time to go to Hogwarts.

Hogwarts
Flying Ford Anglia
There are two attractions, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey (the ride that lets you get inside the Hogwarts/castle), and the Flight of the Hippogriff, which is an outdoor roller-coaster ride.

We went to the Forbidden Journey. We made our way to the amazing and enchanting Hogwarts. It's so grand and beautiful.

Then it's our turn for the ride, finally! ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐ŸปPlease note that there is a locker that is free of charge at the entrance. If you have a big purse, or other bulky items like water, you have to keep them in the locker, because they will not be allowed in the ride. The ride is a scenic ride that allows you to move up, down, rotate, etc. It's not a roller coaster ride. I'm not really a fan of rides, but being in Hogsmeade and Hogwarts make a trip to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter all worth it.

Sadly, we did not have time and the energy to spend more hours queuing under the sun to go for the Flight of the Hippogriff, or for any other rides for that matter. After Harry Potter, we went to The Mummy and The Simpsons (I did not go). We we're hoping to do The Jurassic Park, but my, my, it's such a busy and super hot day to be here ๐Ÿ˜…, so we did not have the powers to stay the whole day. We will save the trip to see The Nightime Lights at Hogwarts Castle some other time, with a cooler season, Fall or Winter. I'm glad we got a 3-Visit Pass from Costco, hence, we still have that option. There is still so much more to see. Summer break is almost over (last summer we did camping), I can't wait for Autumn. Cheers! ๐Ÿค—

Nice and detailed write-up, with great pics. :) I visited in 2015 and was a little overwhelmed by the crowds. Thankfully, the rides and butterbeer compensated.

You have to visit again in nighttime too. The whole area takes on a different feel entirely.
