Real vs. Fake Finishing Touch Flawless Hair Remover | #ChicSassyMomFinds

Annyeong, cinggu! πŸ€—One can never have too many selfies (totally agree, but my boys would rather digress on this matter πŸ˜‰),  but oh well, with Finishing Touch I can always be selfie ready, just in case.

Original/Real FLAWLESS™ By Finishing Touch®
I have fine upper and lower lip facial hairs. Though fine, but they're black, so they tend to leave shadows and they're unsightly to my liking. Those are times, I don't do selfies at all. Hahaha I mostly do threading, painful, but oh well no pain, no gain. Once in a while I go for waxing. Sometimes,  when I have time and/or feeling like not spending, I tweeze. Thank goodness for the Finishing Touch Flawless Facial Hair Remover, easy peasy, removes facial hairs instantly and pain free. From my experience, hair don't grow back dark and coarse. I usually apply a toner with tea tree oil after each session, I massage the upper and lower lips. So no irritations, redness, and breakouts. That's a very important, lifesaving πŸ˜…(because I'm vain) life hack to keep off breakouts after waxing or threading.

The deal is I wanted to get my sister and mom one to use in the Philippines. I was feeling super comfortable with Amazon, so I bought a set (Tool and replacement heads), price is the same from Ulta, Target or Walmart. If you've just noticed, I kept saying Finishing Touch not just Flawless Hair Remover, because the Finishing Touch is a brand. I'd rather get the branded, original hair remover tool and replacement heads. To my surprise, this is what I got.
Clearly, No Finishing Touch branding from the packaging and no Flawless branding on the tool. From the box, you will not spot the Flawless branding (see photo on top), it's at the other end. I did not open the replacement heads because they're just placed in a brown envelope. I can tell at the onset. The beauty of Amazon is the return policy, easy, no frills. I quickly triggered a return, went to UPS, and days after shipping them back for free, I got my refund.  Quickly went to Target and got the real, authentic Finishing Touch. Best to get them at authorised resellers.
From Target, Finishing Touch Flawless Hair Remover $19.99+ and Replacement Heads $12.99+
Finishing Touch Flawless Hair Remover works for me. Thank you for my friends for gifting this to me...super lifesaver especially when in California (when a trip for a brow and lip threading is super expensive that what I'm used to when in Manila, miss you so much, The Brow Studio).

#Selfie #Selca πŸ˜‰
Anyhow, since DIY is the way to thrive...oh how I love thee, Finishing Touch. Selfie away! 🀳🏼Cheers! ✌🏻

#KetoDietForever | Shirataki Rice 🍚 #KetoBibimbap #MiracleRice

Annyeong! πŸ€—My consolation for going with Keto is I can eat Korean BBQ to my heart's content...the fattier, the better, melts in your mouth *slurp! Chadol baegi forever! πŸ˜‹I just have to avoid japchae and bibimbap. But at home, not anymore, thank you drama gods, with shirataki, I can eat Korean drama-inspired food! Yass! πŸ‘ŠπŸΌ

Shirataki Rice 🍚 by Miracle Rice for $16.81+ , I got 6 bags of assorted Miracle Noodle and Rice (2 packs each of Angel Hair, Fettuccini, and Rice 🍚). Also, available on the official website of Miracle Rice.
Truly, it's a miracle. It's from Japanese Konjac plant so it's super low calorie and low carb. But, it's filling at the onset, and it taste like rice, except crunchier. Al dente. Hah. Super easy to cook, drain, wash with cold water, there's a slight fishy scent, but it will go away after boiling for 2 minutes, drain again. Pan dry, and dinner is served!!!
Let's eat! Meogja!
Finally, I can eat bibimbap (Korean rice topping with beef, vegetables (I use kimchi), sesame oil, bean paste, fried egg if you like) whenever I'm craving. Because the kimchi and the shitaki mushrooms are crunchy, the rice fits just right.
One pack is good enough for two meals. I saved the rest for a hearty Filipino meal, Corned beef and Egg. Sarap! πŸ³

Brunch + Bulletproof coffee
Daebak! Seriously, can they just make shirataki chips too, please?! Four things that make me cheat and give up on keto is noodle (If you're just dropping by for shirataki rice, please don't forget to check out my post about shirataki noodle, because, yes, oh happy day, you can also eat japchae even on keto! πŸ‘ŒπŸ»), rice, chocolate and potato chips. I have keto noodle and rice now. I also have a keto chocolate cupcake. I only need a keto potato chips (it can't be pork rinds all the time πŸ˜‰). I'm hopeful. Let's do this! Aja! Aja! Fighting! ✌🏻

#KetoDietForever | Shirataki Pasta 🍝#MiracleNoodle

Yasssss! πŸ’ƒπŸ»I'm super hopeful with Shirataki Pasta. I think I'll have fewer reasons and excuses to cheat, and just maybe I'll seriously do stay on keto, truly be "payat" not just look like one πŸ˜…. #DietForever

Miracle Noodle Angel Hair Shirataki Pasta
Shirataki Pasta is like an answered prayer for a forever hopeful, struggling dieter like yours truly. I'm super happy to find them available on Amazon.  For $16.81+ , I got 6 bags of assorted Miracle Noodle and Rice (2 packs each of Angel Hair, Fettuccini, and Rice 🍚). And take that, it's same day delivery!!! I love, love, love Amazon Prime.
Here's the product description I got from the official website.
Miracle Noodle Miracle Noodle Angel Hair is the perfect addition to any health-conscious eater's cache. These delicious angel hair shirataki noodles are thin and airy, so they make a great starting point for many tasty Italian entrees! What are shirataki noodles, exactly? Unlike typical noodles, which are made of flour or grains, shirataki noodles are made of the Japanese konjac plant - which means they're essentially 97 percent water and 3 percent soluble fiber - so they're much better for you.
Each serving of Miracle Noodle Angel Hair contains zero calories and less than 1 gram of carbs. In fact, that small carb content is only from the fiber and a natural calcium additive that helps the noodles keep their shape.
Zero calories, soy-free, gluten-free, cholesterol-free. Made with non-GMO ingredients. Contains less than 1 gram of carbs per serving (only from fiber). Made in the U.S.
I'm proud to say that I make good spaghetti, and the downside, whenever I cook it, I cheat. 🀦🏻‍♀️ Not for long, this shirataki noodle is miraculous. Pinky promise. I was expecting the healthy-not-so-tasty-kind of alternate, but oh my,  seriously, it tastes normal/regular. Not diet food. I'm over the moon! πŸ€—

Easy peasy. Drain the water. Rinse with cold water, there's a weird scent but it will not stay once boiled for 2 minutes. Drain. Then pan fry, no oil,  in medium heat until all water is out, and noodles are dry. Al dente. πŸ‘ŒπŸ»
Keto Shirataki Spaghetti πŸ˜‹
One pack can be good for two servings. I put so much sauce and cheese that's why. Hahaha.

Korean Japchae with Shirataki Pasta πŸ₯‘
So I'm just happy to eat pasta for a while without feeling guilty. I will try the fettuccini and rice (really, rice, for real!?) next. I will keep you posted on my progress. More often than not, fan meetings inspire me to commit. I'm thinking of going to one this August. Hah. ✌🏻So, let's do this! Aja! Aja! Fighting! πŸ‘ŠπŸΌ

#Werkwerkwerk | I'm back! ✌🏻

Annyeong, cinggu! πŸ€—

Yasssss! We're slowly but surely building our business.  I'm grateful for the opportunities, all unique, unexpected. Truly, possibilities are endless, oh for the love of our American dream...to God be the glory. I've been feeling toxic lately, hence, for the lack of post. Oh well, 🀦🏻‍♀️ real life dramas and all, I'm sulking. But then, boo me, I remember, pray, hope and don't worry! Oh life! Happy mode.

Saturday Outfit for a Business Meeting
#OOTD : Anne Klein Top and Bottom | Uniqlo Black Top | Fendi Belt | Chloe Paraty (I misplaced my strap 🀫) | Michael Kors Pumps
They sad I look "payat" (thin, slim), it must be the angle, and I'm wearing black. πŸ˜‰ Although, I've been on/off keto, I was coming from a break, and I only started losing the pounds I gained back from our Spring vacay. But, I'm already pounds lighter vs. last year. It's like I'm back to that time when I was calorie counting, and eventually no-pork/beef diet for a year for that medical emergency, which surprisingly gave me my lowest weight in yearssss. So that's the goal, to exceed that significant weight loss and not only feel but also look like a Koreana na. Oh, please. ✌🏻 Oh well, I do hope to write another post on my successful weight loss journey c/o keto.

Sunday and yes, still werk werk werk. I met with business client. I'm praying for good news. πŸ™πŸΌ
Happy Monday, friends! Let's do this! Aja! Aja! Fighting! Cheers!✌🏻

#ChicSassyMomFinds | imPress #DIY Nail Art πŸ’…πŸΌ

Annyeong, cinggu! πŸ€— Hope you're having a great weekend.

If you're just dropping by, you ought to know that we moved to California (sort of mentioned it here, here, and here too). To American dreams, cheers! πŸ₯‚ But maybe because I tend to lean towards dramatics (Korean and real life dramas πŸ˜‰), I'm having the hardest time adjusting here. #Homesickmuch  (I can only shop and watch Korean dramas so much for consolation. Hah.) I guess when you're used to DIY (do it yourself) as only limited to throwing parties, and everything else is left for others to do (like everything-housework, tutoring, manicure, pedicure, hair color etc.), you'll be in with a lot of pain and heartaches drama. Hahaha Seriously, I truly miss Manila living. We're not rich, but we're comfortable, meaning you're co-workers will feel for you when struck with yaya (house help) problems. πŸ˜… That, plus when you're only major decision to make for a given me-time is either to get regular or gel nail polish. Hah.

When in California, almost everything is DIY.

imPRESS Ice Blue Mani with Holographic Accents - Bright As A Feather for $7.99+ available on Target, Walmart, CVS, RiteAid, Walgreens
Finger Heart ❤️
Product Details and Instructions from the official imPress website. I can't find mine. 🀭
I can only go with short nails. This is so far my favorite brand. Super easy to apply. Plus, they have superb staying power. Since I only needed to be pretty for few days, I forced them out on the third day. Take note, I had to remove them. Those three days are with bathing and a lot of dishwashing (housework, remember), and still they stayed. I'm impressed! Embracing endless DIY possibilities! Please stay tuned for more. Aja! Aja! Fighting! ✌🏻

#KDramaInspiredShopping ✌🏻 | Supreme Haul πŸŽ’πŸ§’ #ChicSassyMomFinds

Annyeong, cinggu! πŸ€—

It's a good day to blog. My boys are out playing Magic:The Gathering again!!!😱I'm done with housework. Yassss! One more post, and I'm off to more Korean Drama time. ☺️

In fairness, while I'm terribly homesick (for Manila and for Seoul 😭), I do love online shopping in California (what a capricious way to console myself πŸ˜… #sorrynotsorry ). My recent addiction is Supreme New York. Well, it all started with Chaseyboy, my 12-year old son, who's into it, oh my, he's growing up so fast. I do remember hearing about the brand because of its collaboration with Louis Vuitton. Apparently, the whole world is into the brand, it's such a pain to buy online. But I was half-victorious on my recent attempts. Supremely happy. πŸ˜‰

Work and Play. Supreme cap and backpack for dress down Fridays. #Friyay
First attempt: Only the navy Gonz Logo cap ($48++) and Hanes  ($28++) white shirts were left available. Son is happy. The sticker is worth a thousand words. #Supreme
Online site updates every Thursday, 8:00 am in California. You cannot be a minute late. I'm not too fast, so I missed out on the jackets, the red cap, the red bag, and the featured accessories.

Supreme Haul. Caps, Backpack, and duffle bag.
Second attempt was for the bags, both backpack and duffle bag. So exciting, whatever that's available, I bought, well except for the printed shirts and jackets. When I finished my purchase, I suddenly found myself hoping to get a matching blue duffle bag. But my, I cannot!!! The site recognised that I already bought the black bag, and I can only get one kind regardless of color. Though I changed the name, phone number, email and even address. I cannot buy anymore. Oh well. πŸ˜…

Original Supreme Items. Duffle Bag and Backpack at $158 each, plus shipping and tax adds up to $357. I love the intricacy of designs. Beautiful and functional. #Supreme
Supreme Corduroy Camp Cap with shipping and tax is for $70. I hope to get a red cap. Then, I'm done, so I say. 😝
What's in a name? πŸ€”The thrill of the chase...oh well, I'm only human, that plus I'm naturally easy to get. 🀫🀭 Seriously, it's like a precious commodity. Come to think of it, it's not as expensive, buying a bag or a jacket or a shirt (if you will ever be successful) is just like buying a Jo Malone, so I can justify it. But then, it's sold out all the time. So a successful purchase makes anyone supremely happy. Hah. The brand doesn't offer free shipping at all. So it will be nicer if you get more items in one purchase. The recent Lacoste collaboration is super nice, but I was too late. Oh well, unless I have a partner in crime who's up to shop asap, I don't think I can get myself a jacket or a shirt or a red bag or a red cap. 🀦🏻‍♀️ Lacoste-Supreme would have been a nicer line and it's apt for my age too. Hah. I would like to think that I'm buying supreme for my son. Hahaha But then I see my Korean oppas wearing them, so I think to myself what a wonderful world, Supreme, you're mine!  πŸ˜‰

Lee Min Ho and Nam Joo Hyuk wearing Supreme. I need that jacket, pali, pali, juseyo! ✌🏻
#OOTD : Supreme + Tom Ford Sunglasses + Abercrombie & Fitch
#FOTD: Shiseido + Benefit Cosmetics + Lancome
Once a fangirl, always a fangirl. I now add Supreme to my newest addiction. Let's do this! Aja! Aja! Fighting! ✌🏻

#ChicSassyMomTravels | Snowy Spring Day ☃️

Oh my, I have a bad case of vacation hangover. 🀦🏻‍♀️ I had to take inspiration from Frozen....I just have to let it go!

Anyhow, if you're following me on IG (@chicsassymom), we had a nice, short but oh so sweet spring break. While my FB feed is (still) flooded with cherry blossoms, European, Korea and Japan, and summer posts (envy much), I also did my share of flooding my feed with Southern and Northern California vacay posts. It's a week spent all over Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Arizona, Nevada, then back to Bay Area.  It's a nice change to be touring family who were visiting instead of us being the tourist, we are now California locals. Haha.πŸ€—So much to see, so little time, and a nice Saturday day trip to Reno to sweetly cap off the spring break with snow flurry to boot. 🌨

Cloudy weather with a chance of snow. ☃️
I was following the weather in Norden, Soda Springs, Lake Tahoe, and Reno. With so much snow still falling early March, I was hoping that there'll be more snow in time for my sister's visit. It was my mistake to assume that I will still find shops selling snow boots, pants, and shoes late March. So we didn't have snow outfit, and as first timers, we really didn't know how to go about skiing, snow boarding, etc. We only did snow tubing in Chicago last time, but our friends came prepared, we were all geared up for snow play. So we decided just to hope for the best to find a nice snowy stop on our way to Reno for Circus, Circus for the boys. I chose Reno, because I remember a nice rest area on the way there with lots of snow. Yay! It's a nice white spring day.

Annyeong, Olaf! ⛄️
Right after Boreal Mountain Resort, there's Donner Pass Rest Area. I found it! It's the same stop we went last time where Chase and I had the first experience of snow flurry.

Donner Pass Rest Area
We had to walk to the nice snowy spot. It's super tricky considering we're not wearing snow boots. I fell. They fell. We're wet! We're frozen! πŸ˜…πŸŒ¨

But my, these moments....priceless! πŸ’«

#OOTD : Abercrombie & Fitch Coat | Marc New York | Ugg Boots πŸ’ƒπŸ»

Check in bucket list. ✅#SnowAngel πŸŒ¨πŸ‘ΌπŸ»
Unlike last time, I was more adventurous. Hah. My Abercrombie & Fitch coat is water resistant methinks, so I tried for the first time...snow angel! πŸ˜‡ J'adore! I still think I'm too old for snow play, I'm scared of frost bite, falling, broken bones, etc. Hahaha. The beauty of living in the Bay Area is it's just hours drive away from Soda Springs. So maybe, I'll loosen up a bit and let my son enjoy some snow play, but we'll come prepared. You ought to know I love dressing up for winter, so next time, I will expand my choices with consideration to functionality (hello, North Face and Superdry) so will be ready to play more. Aja! Aja! Fighting! Cheers! ✌🏻

#ChicSassyMomFinds | Rosemary for Hair Fall πŸ’πŸ»‍♀️πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Annyeong, cinggu! πŸ€—

It's been a while, same old story...busy, feeling dramatic, and what have you. I don't really know where to start, but I have so many photos selfies waiting to be talked about. I'll begin with an easy post, here goes...I finally found the ultimate fix for my hair fall. It's a big deal. Hah. If you're just dropping by, you ought to know that most featured items are birthday parties, Korean Drama fangirling, skincare and haircare. I talked about them all the time, like how shrimp is to Bubba. ☺️Sometime ago, to my panic, I splurged on assortments of haircare products to fix my crazy hairfall episode. Managing expectations, I know it will take some time. But it's taking so much time, that I was desperate, until I discovered essential oils. I am officially addicted and a believer.  πŸ™‹πŸ»‍♀️ #Oilbularyo

Rosemary, oh how I love thee! ❤️ #EdesGarden #PlantTherapy #RhadaBeauty
You can go for a more detailed approach by mixing 5ml of fractionated coconut oil to rosemary, start with a 5 ml of oil to a drop or two of rosemary. Massage. Leave as long as you can, I usually do 2 minutes minimum. But I'm too lazy to do the mixing, and I don't have that much stuff yet for blending and concocting all those beautiful and amazing DIY beauty care solutions with essential oils. What I do is just get a palm-sized dollop of conditioner (take note, before I used the specially formulated conditioners for hair fall, now I just use whatever), add three drops of rosemary to it. Massage the scalp to make sure it's evenly distributed. When I started, sometime February, I did it almost everyday, or every other day, now maybe thrice a week. Hair fall significantly reduced after two weeks. Hair strands are stronger, same feel and effect like when I was using all sorts of dedicated hair fall/growth products like Novuhair. But then hair is softer and fuller.

Hello, baby hairs! πŸ˜‰
My baby hairs are wild. They're super noticeable. My aunts are amused. I gifted them a set of Essential Oils too. Rosemary is love. It boasts of an array of health benefits, not just for hair care, but for skincare, oral care, respiratory, aromatherapy and so much more. I love the smell of rosemary. It's so spa-ish. Because I don't go to spa anymore (huhu, it's so expensive here in California, I'm missing my me-time in Manila), essential oils are my lifeline. I need them. I breathe and apply essential oils (with carrier oils) like there's no tomorrow. I haven't included them on my diet,  but who knows. πŸ˜‰I'm using Edens Garden essential oil for my hair, the other brands I used for diffusing and room spray. For a stronger and lasting scent, I like Radha Beauty, which I get from Amazon. Plant Therapy (also from Amazon) is my newest brand to try. I will let you know. I will save a more detailed post on essential oils. Meantime, grab yourself a bottle of essential oil, a 10 ml bottle for hair care goes a long way. It sells for less than $10, truly way cheaper than getting special hair treatments and specialized hair fall and hair growth brands. Regardless of the cause of my crazy hair fall episode, hormonal,  poor diet, stress and what have you, de-stressing with essential oils work wonders. It's all in the mind, so they say... Aja! Aja! Fighting! Cheers! ✌🏻

#ChicSassyMomFinds | Lancome X Shiseido Haul #SkincareAddict πŸ™‹πŸ»‍♀️✌🏻

Konnichiwa! ;-D Hope all is well with everyone. My most recent updates prior to this shopping post is about our real life dramas (instead of Korean dramas πŸ˜‰), I hope to inspire, keep chasing your dreams, with God's graces, you can be fearless. Inshallah. πŸ’«

Well, while we've been very busy sorting our lives here in the US of A, somebody (me πŸ™‹πŸ»‍♀️) has also been very busy online shopping. If you're following me on IG @chicsassymom , my feed is mostly about those and selfies. 🀫 I mean, my goodness, truly there's so much deals going to fuel impulse buying. Since we (including my husband πŸ˜ƒ) are so easy to get or just probably innate shopaholics, online shopping has never been this good especially for a skincare and gift with purchase addict like yours truly.

Shiseido is now a mainstay brand in my updated skincare routine. Sadly, I have better access to Japanese skincare here than my usual Korean Cosmetics go-to brand namely Innisfree and Skinfood, admittedly because of the gifts with purchase, it makes sense to get them. As always, Japanese skincare brands don't disappoint, so Shiseido takes 2 or 3 of my 7++ skincare steps. πŸ˜‰ The Shiseido Tinted Foundation is my go-to sunscreen + foundation, easy peasy. I'm already on my second tube, a tube goes a long way, see my many #FOTD selfies while wearing it on my IG. ✌🏻
Shiseido Ibuki Smart Fitering Smoother promises picture-perfect looking skin. Awwwww, because I do plan on taking more selfies 🀩 , this seems like a good addition to my skincare/makeup routine. Review and FOTD post soon.
Bonjour!  Oh my #Lancome, je t’aime! ❤️ I'm so into Lancome lately. It's the first non-Korean/Japanese skincare brand that seems to suit my super sensitive skin. Oh wait, Suzy is the brand ambassador of it in Korea, let's count it as a Korean skincare/makeup too, shall we?✌🏻

Macy's had a tempting deal to buy a $35+ purchase and you get everything else for free. Paid purchase is the Dual Finish Multi-Tasking Powder and Foundation in One. I hope to do a full review of it, but again #FOTD post on my IG account. It's so good, that I already got a second one for gifting to my mom, who shares the same shade and skin type like yours truly. Plus the skincare items are equally as nice, I love, love, love the Advanced Genefique. And because the Bi-Facil is a truly good eye makeup remover, I wear the Monsieur Big Mascara all the time. Super nice.
But wait, there's more 🀭, Bloomingdale's had another nice deal, starting at $39.50 but if you bring it up to $75+ you get even more. I got the Lip Trio for that additional purchase. Paid purchases are the Nutrix and the Ombre Hypnose Mini Chubby.
Oh well, it seems I have enough make up and even more lipsticks to last me a while. But for skincare, I dare not to skimp on them, so I'll probably have some room for more. ☺️ Have a beautiful day! Cheers! ;-D

P.S. Please do drop me a note on which item you would want me to review first. Or if you have a brand or an item that you would like me to try. Or a sale event, perhaps. πŸ€—

#ChicSassyMom x USA 🌴 | Cheers to New Beginnings v2 ✨

Annyeong, cinggu! Oh my, life's so hectic and dramatic, oh well, life goes on...aja! aja! Fighting!

Anyhow, I guess this is it, so it's back to regular programming.

Commit to the Lord whatever you do,  and He will establish your plans. πŸ™πŸΌπŸ˜‡ -Proverbs 16:3
It's always major change when we're taken out of our comfort zones, if you have been following me since a long time ago, there were numerous life changing and dramatic happenings (read Dear Diary tab, here, here too). Sometimes, I ended up MIA, and then I'll tell you all about the deets on how I've survived it. More often than not, I ended up not boring you with the details. Meantime, I have a lot of time, so I might just be chatty and post whatever like... right now.

My matryoshka dolls from last time came with us and they're feeling right at home. I always like candles and candle holders, what's pleasantly surprising is my sudden fondness of Pineapples (who lives in the pineapple under the sea πŸ˜‚).
Candle holders, hourglass, Pineapple decors all from Homegoods.
For the past fifteen years, this is probably our 7th move to a new house, condo, or apartment. It's hectic, toxic, stressful, and then the fun begins...shopping and home decorating, feeling interior designer. Hah.

...and now we're starting over again, it's not the easiest thing to do. 🎀🎼 πŸ˜… We have tons of ref magnets for travel keepsakes, the rest should be arriving soon. So far, we did Monterey Bay and Napa Valley (will post soon).
I like that we get a clean slate. From black and white theme last time, we're going back to blue. I can't wait to show you the final look. So far, everything is work-in-progress. Wish us luck! Cheers! ;-D

#ChicSassyMomFinds | Scentsy Warmers and Wax

Aloha! Taking inspiration from my aunt who has the nicest smelling home, we made sure to style ours with fragrance. I've seen other brands of scent warmers and wax melts, but for whatever reasons some would not really melt fully.  So I decided to go all the way with Scentsy. I'm sold!

Spot a Scentsy. Coffee or Tea? I love both. Keep calm and drink coffee and tea. I'm showing you 2 of 5 layers of my Tea Pot collection, as the rest are still work in progress.
The tricky part, unless you know a friend or a friend of a relative that does Scentsy Distributorship, you have to get it online. It's by this official Scentsy Website (https://scentsy.com/). When you search Scentsy, you will be directed to a lot of sites. I'm not sure it matters, but on the main website, you have to click find a consultant to be directed to that consultant's website, even if you will not do it right away, on your checkout on the main site you will still be asked for your area code to match you with your consultant. (As a possible distributor, I like that the main site redirects business to you). Though I don't think it will matter in the end if you will just click random Scentsy Selling sites because you all pay for shipping and there's no meet ups or pick up options. But to be safe, best to be redirected to a distributor site through the main site. Oh shoot, I just saw that most warmers are on 10% off promotion for August. I just bought a ton of stuff from few weeks ago. Hah. Scentsy products are pricey. The Blue Diamond Warmer was for $45 USD + Tax + Shipping. Wax melts go for $5 ++. Oh well, Scentsy seems addicting worth it. I will let you know if I find cheaper alternates that work as well.

Anyhow, you wouldn't miss a Scentsy delivery.

Unboxing. Such TLC during packing and shipping.  Scented Wax Melts were packed in insulated foil with a gel ice pack.
Eenie, meenie, miney, moe. πŸ€” Since I'm not sure yet what will be my go-to scents (except for Just Breathe, I'm an avid fan of mint etc.), I selected by name and description. Hmmm, imagine. Goodness, it seems I got most right. To date, Just Breathe is a must have, plus Summer Holiday.

Hope Springs 🌸 | California Day 1

From my part of the world, Happy Chinese New Year! ✨

I'm starting this series of our USA stay countdown. Oh what a mighty God we serve, it's no coincidence, but only God's perfect timing that today is our Day 1 of chasing after our American Dreams. Hope springs.

Are these Cherry Blossoms? I googled them to be sure, it seems they are. But Cherry Blossoms in Union City, California on winter (Feb 2018)? If they are, I guess they too were confused last time because for a moment the world thought that winter was over. I love that they bloomed prematurely, so it gives me hope.
So today is just perfection, well almost. It's another "me" time for yours truly. I'm done with housework except for laundry,  I can't wait to resume watching another Korean Drama, Just Between Lovers. I swear if many would be into Korean dramas, the world will be a better place. Haha. Imagine having that soulful and literally Seoul-ful connection with instant cinggus (friends in Korean) all over the world. True story, I have made lifelong friendships, and even successful working relationships because we discovered that we are united in love and addiction for Korean Dramas. Hmmmm, to get you started, if you haven't, why don't you perhaps try Healer with Ji Chang Wook, that or something else (I have to truly think about drama would best onboard you with the drama world, will save another post).

Anyhow, I wanted to give glory and thanks to our dear God. Truly, pray, hope, and don't worry. Through the intercession of Padre Pio and Our Lady of Lourdes, God answers prayers. I sincerely want to give testament to how God works miraculously. He has plans for us and works in wonders. Inshallah, if God wills it. Pray, pray, pray. I learn to ask family and friends for prayer intercessions. Thank you, prayer warriors.

So I daresay I'm prayerful, I pray about everything. I remembered praying sincerely hard to God when I was but a child on the dogs barking at midnight because I was too scared, so I prayed to please dear God make them stop. I even prayed for my crush, hahaha, please make him like me back. Hahaha. If I don't have enough sleep because I was too scared or worried or because I stayed up so late because of a book (I was a bookworm, before a drama addict, now both, haaay hopeless romantic) or now for a Korean drama, but I needed to be functioning in the morning for school and work, I pray to God for a miracle of a good night sleep (please God, even if I sleep now only for an hour or so, please make it feel that I've slept the whole night through with a sweet dream to boot.) Never fails, I calm down, sleep, and wake up recharged ready to face another day, but I say a little prayer of forgiveness for worrying or staying up needlessly. Everyday, I try to ask for forgiveness for doubting, for feeling entitled, for being jealous, for being moody, for nagging, for being proud (today, I grounded my son and I'm giving my hubby a silent treatment because of some real life dramas, oh well, I guess silence should be better than fighting for the moment as my son said, we're like dogs, there, Happy CNY! Ha. Bad.), for being indulgent, for forgetting to pray, and all the likes (hello, human!).

But then, I realize albeit belatedly that although God knows our hearts' desires, we need to learn to pray the right way. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit and with diligent practice and with utmost sincerity and steadfast humility, we can be articulate with our prayers. Oh well, I'm still lacking so I guess, I will still have a longer and a more colorful life ahead of me. Ha. But I swear, true story, for a moment when I was a child, I was a sicky and a meek child, in a drama setting, but then, life happens, I met Candy (see Candy Candy Japanese Manga and Anime), I can't be Candy all the time. I bark, I bite. I'm mischievous and quaint. I'm altogether charming, so I thrive. What keeps me going? Of course, a lot of prayers. And a bit of inspiration from dramas, happy endings, and knowing that this too shall pass. Aja! Aja! Fighting! πŸ€—

Why I blog? πŸ’« #Random

Hello, Monday! πŸ€— I was inspired to be productive with the uplifting blends of eucalyptus, lavender and cinnamon in the air.

Setting the mood to ponder. πŸ€”
I was initially planning to do a belated post about my Coldplay concert experience last year, because of yesterday's Superbowl halftime craze albeit mostly negative (why the negativity, people), and Coldplay's 2016 performance came up (yes, also negative), this got me thinking, why oh why. I mean seeing Coldplay last time is a big check off my bucket list. I can't seem to get enough of them, I will do it again in a heartbeat. Oh well, to each his own. Life happens. We all have a different million reasons to love, or to hate. I choose love. Hahaha Now please bear with me, this is serious. Admittedly, I have more time to blog now than five years ago. When I started 2010-2011, it was a full blown blog about my son, about motherhood and his birthday parties. I was a SAHM back then, I rarely had shopping outings, so no selfies, outfit and makeup of the day posts. Then I went back to corporate, so many travels, shoppings, but I was stressed out. I can't talk about work, and I chose not to share negativity and real life dramas. Plus, my son grew up, and he doesn't like me taking his photos anymore. This blog became a lifestyle blog...just me, myself and I. But there's no really strong topic that keeps readers coming back everyday, like how I do with Dramabeans (website that feeds my Korean Drama addiction). I'm so-so at everything. I can't even do exciting selfies. Hahaha, so my husband had to ask me just when will I stop it.  Yesterday, I said neverrrrr. Today, hmmmm, I'm thinking. Maybe, not until dot dot dot and if only dot dot dot. πŸ˜…

Worse, while I'm addicted to Korean Dramas but admittedly, I'm too old for it. I can't be fangirling all the time. So I can't devote a blog about dramas all the time. I can do skincare, but not makeup and outfit posts, because I'll be trying too hard. 🀦🏻‍♀️

I call myself Chic & Sassy Mom but I rarely do mommy post anymore. With God's grace, while I give ourselves a pat in the back of raising such a responsible and sweet Chaseyboy, he has a life of his own now. His weekends are his "me time". Seriously, I'm mostly left alone now, I have too many "me" time. There are real life drama unfolding that will take me sometime to talk about freely. The Dear Diary post I wrote in 2012, those challenges are still everrr present. Seriously, I'm feeding my family ramyuns and microwaveable especially here in California, where instant food are bountiful!!! 😱 So my husband intervenes so he does mostly the cooking. πŸ˜”

So I post about my favorite things, which I decided to call #ChicSassyMomFinds, but at the onset, I sound so capricious and self-absorbed, don't I? 🀦🏻‍♀️

I'm not an established blogger as I hope to be in the Philippines though I can say I started earlier, but when blogging became a big thing that made people do it full time for a living, I was already settled in the corporate world. Though, maybe, if only it was economically possible for us back then, I will choose to blog. Because I love, love, love writing. But I'm always lacking somehow, someway. So I'll never know if I'll be really good at it. Corporate for me is what I do best, methinks. It seems it will always be safe choice.

Admittedly, I'm only human, so I want some performance and engagement on my blog. If there's a chance to monetize my blog, why not. I'm guilty of getting affected with Alexa ranking, page visits, and those other metrics such that today I checked the webmaster tools, and Google has a new Search Indexing process, and about 200 of my blog posts are not indexed. I did spend sometime submitting them but I had to go through with a lot of Captcha verifications. So this got me thinking, really, do I  care that they are not indexed or there are lesser likes on my Instagram post(@chicsassymom)? The sad reality is I'm proud, I feel entitled, and that's very, very bad, and admitting that out loud, I'm sincerely sorry for it and I don't want to anymore. So here's what I thought. I don't really care!! So I thought I will still sincerely write my thoughts (still I choose to spread love and positivity haha, I rarely rant, it saves me from gossiping needlessly and I don't want negativity to linger). Then I go back to my first ever reason for writing, not to be idle, I need to use my brain. Sharpening the saw. Hah. On the bigger of scheme of things, I will speak my mind, I will channel my overwhelming energy and desire to fangirl in my blog post. More importantly, blogging is my way of paying it forward for everyone out there who took time to write about something that made googling "how to", "what is", "where is", "how much is", etc. worth it and continue to be sort of experts to life. Then maybe, just maybe, someone reads about it too. Regardless, I love Coldplay and Chris Martin (hahaha back to Coldplay again), I choose Zen. πŸ˜‡ I will not worry about the things that I cannot change. Aja! Aja! Fighting! Cheers!✨

#ChicSassyMomFinds | Jo Malone Haul πŸ’« #GiftIdeas

Hello, love month! 😍 All you need is love, right? But a little gift now and then won't hurt at all. πŸ˜‰ I made my husband's life easier by naming my gift of choice for Valentine's Day.  Tadaaaa... another Jo Malone cologne, please. While we normally would drive to Nordstrom Palo Alto, I've been subscribed to Jo Malone USA online too.  Every so often, they have extra gifts, best one I've seen were deluxe sample of cologne and body creme. Today, they only have a deluxe cologne sample (9 ml) of Basil and Neroli. It was love at first try with Basil and Neroli, so yes, I needed to get this one, right now! So I sweetly asked my hubby if I can already get my gift, he said yes! Yay!

For the love of more samples, and an even bigger one, shop at Jo Malone online now! πŸ€—
You ought to know I'm quite addicted to Jo Malone (see Jo Malone haul post here). It's so hard to choose what scent I like best. Hmmmm, let me think. Is it Nectarine Blossom and Honey? Or Blackberry and Bay? or Wild Blue Bell? Or Basil and Neroli? Not sure, I like all!!! And I'll probably like more in the future. But if unsure, personally, safe bet and choice will be Nectarine Blossom & Honey. I suggest visiting a shop near you (normally in the US, it's Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus), try and sample. Think about it, then head over to Jo Malone online site. The same way you get samples in Nordstrom, you can also get 3 samples online. Plus, every so often, as said before, more gifts with an engraving option to boot! You know for people like yours truly who are so easy to get. πŸ˜‰

For $140++ per classic 100ml bottle, it seems like a reasonable gift, right? At least, it's not a designer purse or shoes, or even a super nice but expensive flower arrangement like my last time's VDay gift request. But soon enough, be ready, you'll be buying more. If you add them up, hmmmm, it'll be about a price of a pair of designer shoes (think Valentino and Gucci hahaha). Oh well, if I can go with having both, why not!? But so far, I'm happy with Jo Malone. Cheers! ✨

#ChicSassyMomBlends | Hello, Essential Oils !πŸ’« #EdensGarden

Happy weekend, friends! πŸ€— Happiness is in the air with a blissful blend of eucalyptus, orange, grapefruit and lemon.

So yes, I'm now blending and diffusing essential oils. I've been an ardent fan of aromatherapy and spa and massage. πŸ˜‰ Though, I usually just get them in finish products, like an oil blends, candles, balm, shower gel, and the likes from Oryspa and many more. Mint is my favorite scent and feel everrrr. So I'm happy to say, because I was bored and anxious, I happily caved in to essential oils and the many beautiful possibilities of getting addicted falling in love with them. πŸ™‹πŸ»‍♀️ Amazon, with the price range and reviews available, is a nice gauge and source of what brand or products to get for your essential oils and diffuser. There you will find Young Living, dōTERRAEdens Garden,  Now Foods, Plant Therapy and many more. Young Living and doTerra are multi-level marketing (like NuSkin), requires membership. Edens Garden seems to be a good choice. So I went to the official site, registered and purchased. Tadaaaa, happiness!

With much deliberation, I got the Best of the Best Set (with 12 Single Oils), Inhaler, Carrier Oil (Coconut), and the Ceramic Diffuser. Price is about the same in Amazon, you might just get faster shipping with Amazon Prime, but registering on the website of Edens Garden means you get points, which you can exchange as credits. I'm sold!
I love thee. Oh the possibilities, I can't wait.
Basic Essential Oils for starter and beginners. I'm super excited, I've been very busy. Mixing, blending, concocting, inhaling, ....the life. #witchyways
While you can diffuse single oils and enjoy the delightful benefits, it's so tempting to just go right away for synergy blends (a mix of essential oils for greater aroma and benefits) available in the market. Hmmmm, but not yet. I wanted to make the most out of these 12 single essential oils  (I'm seriously controlling my urge to buy a lot more just yet. Oh my, I can be a super fangirl and really hoard commit myself to a craft hahaha). Truly, possibilities are endless. Thanks to a dear friend for helping me getting started, and to this site for inspiration on "essential oil blends recipes". Some oils, like clove and bergamot, can be substituted as per my research. πŸ€—

Click Read More after the break for some blends for the 12 Essential Oils in the Best of the Best Edens Garden Essential Oils Set. For the diffuser, I usually add 10-15 drops as recommended.
