Back to School Mates SY 2015-2016

Last two weeks to go, and it's back to school for my Chaseyboy.  Aww. Ohhh. Time flies.

It has been an annual thing to write about back to school, except for last year, which I missed, because I was too busy. Oh well.  But this year's back to school shopping soiree is special. We didn't cram! Learning from our super hectic shopping outing last year, I made sure to get the easy stuff like the stickers, bag tags done ahead of time. Best of all, I didn't argue with both of my boys (hubby and son) in terms of choices. Ha. This time, I truly tried to take a step back, and just let Chase decide. Oh my, he didn't even let me in the fitting room to try out his school pants. He's only 9 years old. My, my, please don't grow up so fast.

Igloo Playmate Lunchbox, Glasslock Food Storage, Freego Khaki Pants (we usually get them in school too, but he said he didn't like the fit, so we went to get them in SM Kids' Section), Jansport Camouflage Backpack, New Case for his Samsung Galaxy Tab, Florsheim Kids, School Supplies from LSGH)
He was choosing between two designs of camouflage prints, the other choice, he liked better because it had more camouflage prints and nice leather trimmings, but this offered the most comfort given great padding of the shoulder straps.  Jansport All Purpose Design Camouflage (T26LZU3) Php 3190, SM Department Store

Wingstop is here! #WingstopPh #FoodFinds

I fondly remember trying out Wingstop (as another tourist destination just like In-N-Out burger) whenever we're in LA, because it's the Official Wings of Los Angeles Lakers and my boys are big fans of Lakers. Well, me, I just like chicken wings. *Teehee

Happy dance, the Wing Experts are here.
10 branches and counting. #WingstopPh

Seoul-ful Food | Seoul Travel

Annyeong! ^_^

I love, love, love Korean food. I swear in my past life, I was a Seoulite. I must be. Please indulge me. *Teehee

Jal meokkesseumnida (I will eat well)! For our first night, we ate at this restaurant along Myeongdong.

Mandu (dumplings), Seafood Pancake, Chicken and beer, Buddae Jjigae. #Yum
Second day was city tour, and it was mostly coffee shops and street food for us. We went to Han River. Yay! #HappyDance

Third day was Korean Folk Village tour. I reckon that it's a Korean Drama fangirl must-do. It's reconnecting with our oppas and reminiscing fave Korean historical drama. Annyeong, Lee Joon Gi oppa! *Teehee

The fangirls were hungry, so before taking our bus back to the city, we found this interesting restaurant in front of the bus stop.

Yukgaejang (Beef Soup) and Sundaeguk for KRW 7000 each. Interesting. Since we really had no choice because that's all they have and we're very, very hungry. I ended up doing my own bibimbap (mixed rice) using what we have, kimchi, tofu, greens and gochujang (chili pepper paste). Soup for the soul, warmed us during the rainy day.

SkinFood Makeover for Moms #FOTD

Annyeong! Hope everyone had an awesome Mother's Day weekend!^_^

For this year, we made a short but oh so sweet trip  to Angeles City to spend Sunday church and breakfast with the family, then back to Manila. Saturday afternoon was Marquee Mall all-we-like. My son with his cousin enjoyed unlimited time playing at Invasion! @ Little Martians (it's a play area with Laser Tag, PC/iPad access, and a whole lot more). About 6 hours or so playing...what an amazing supply of energy!

Anyhow, with some time to spare, I availed of the Mother's Day featured mall treat/activity. One of which was a free makeover by SkinFood. You ought to know that I love, love, love SkinFood too. The brand paved the way for my Korea Cosmetics addiction love affair.

For my look, the Make-up artist used the following SkinFood goodies:
SkinFood Mushroom MultiCare BB Cream (first time to use it, I'm thinking of getting one) |
Rose Essence Mult Finish for my blush | Skin Food Fresh Fruit Lip & Cheek in Pomegranate (I did a review of the Apricot here) | Sugar Blom Shadow Box No. 2 Natural Bloom, Choco Wood Pencil | Red Orange Sun Pact Shade No. 2 (I did a review for SkinFood Red Orange Sun Pact in No. 1, now that I think about it, Shade No. 2 works better for me). I forgot to include the eyeliner and the mascara.

Oakley + Crizal Transitions = Love at First Sight

Sometime ago, I tried wearing contact lenses (because I couldn't let go of my Oakley Shades). I had some misadventures, plus my, my, it's making me late for work! Hah. So I gave up. It's back to my ol' ever reliable Oakley Prescription Eyeglasses since then.

Just before we went to the beach, I got myself refitted with Transitions lenses. I initially considered getting just the unbranded ones, about half the price, although a bit longer time to "transition", but they're not readily available. And that time, patience was not my virtue, so Crizal is it!

Crizal Transitions Lenses is a Photocromics Lenses brand by Essilor. Basically, Transitions lenses are clear indoors and at night. Once outdoors, they adapt spontaneously to varying light conditions.
In the photo above, there is an invisible Crizal hologram logo that shows up when it's exposed to light, and just when the lenses start to transition.

Oakley + Crizal Transitions Lenses = Nice-h! Instant Sunnies!  #Loveit
Will share the product features below, since, ye, I concur!
Produced by the world leaders in ophtlamic and photochromic lenses, Crizal Transitions lenses provide you with the optimum vision solution.
  • Perfectly clear indoors, they adapt spontaneously to changing light conditions, with a fast activation in the sun in less than 60 seconds.
  • 30% faster to fade back to their clear state and conveniently offer a great contrast perception though glare reduction in any light.
  • Provide you with the most enduring clarity of vision with the best resistance to scratches, smudge, water and dust as well as the optimal protection from harmful UV rays.
  • They offer higher light transmission than ordinary lenses*, enhancing your clarity of vision in any light.
See more at: Crizal Transitions Official Site
This is my second time to get Transitions lenses. I used to have it for my Burberry frame. But when I got a new frame, I did not want to spend extra. (And I wanted to wear shades.) I guess, it worked out for the better. I did spend Php 4500 for the Crizal Transitions Lenses in Ideal Vision, but it meant that I'll be wearing my Oakley Prescription longer, for the price I got them, which was over Php 10K, they sure are still alive worth it!. Plus, it also means taking tender loving care of my eyes (lesser Korean Drama marathons. hah!) to avoid refitting of lenses anytime soon. Think big savings. Huge. *Teehee Cheers! ^_^

Kawisori Korean Hair Salon Ortigas | Fave Place

Annyeong! ^_^

21st visit after, here's my rave review of Kawisori Salon.

Teehee, my boys have to concur, Korean Salon is the place to be. So happy to found such salon so close to home that we fell in love with.

Kawisori Korean Hair Salon Ortigas Center
Bonus time. Free haircut on the 21st visit. Ye, you can tell, my boys love Kawisori to bits.
Of the 20 so visits, mine accounts for only a visit. You ought to know I don't do haircut lately (Rapunzel, is it you?) since I like to keep it long and in a Ms. Universe bun. Oh well, but before my Seoul trip, I had it trimmed and styled. Nice-h! ^_^

Me, myself, and I. It's still straight (wavy) and layered, but got it styled after the haircut. That is why I love Korean hair salons, they do the best styling after the haircut. Read more of my #OOTD and #FOTD in Seoul.
Meet Sharon. She's an awesome Korean Hairstylist (she does everything in the salon), plus she speaks English. Make sure to book ahead. The place can be jam-packed, and it's closed every Thursday.
Busy, busy place. Is it a good day to get a perm? Sharon is all over the place, perming, cutting, styling. Name it, she does everything. Daebak! ^_^ Reminds me of a Korean Drama scene filled with ahjussis and ahjumonis oppas and agasshis.
Sorry for the photo quality, will get a better one next time. Women's Hair cut goes for Php 500, and Men's at Php 400.
Here's our Chaseyboy...

First photo (L) is the before. He has another after photo with the same before reaction. *Teehee Aissh, I swear, it's so hard to take his picture lately! #MommyBloggerWoes
Choose your fave Korean stars' hairstyle for a peg or inspiration. So whose style is it this time? I lost track already. Haha.

We love Kawisori, you can tell, right?

Kawisori Hair Salon in Ortigas is located at 8137 Plaza‎. St. Josemaria Escriva Drive (same compound as Jang Ga Nae Korean Restaurant).

About Me

My photo

Wifey to JB and Mommy to Chasey :) It's said that one's eyes are windows to one's soul. True! My eyes twinkle when I'm happy, they light up with my smile. I’m no frills! I'm easy to read (except during Poker). I easily get teary eyed on practically both happy and sad things. I'm overly emotional! UP,Toy Story 3, and Glee made me cry with delight. My hubby is my source of strength. He balances that side of my personality. He made me a more self-reliant person.I love being a mom. But be it known that I tend to be OC, paranoid, and definitely see my self as a stage mom.I can't help but throw him parties every year.I love to read. If there is a lifetime membership to Book Lover's Club, I've probably signed in as early as Grade 1. I'm blessed to have a special relationship with God. He is my confidante. I practically talked to him anywhere and anytime about anything. I'm a Kapampangan and supposedly known for having culinary skills. This still needs to be found perfected, but for sure, I can say I'm a gourmand!I love to eat and it shows!Oh well!Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder and Happiness is only a state of mind. From today onwards, I intend to live in a Happy Mode!Cheers!
