Marvel-ous Haul {Captain America and The Amazing Spider-Man 2}

Amazing! Like the rest of the world, we're now a big fan of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. I love the depth of the story, the charismatic characters (Chris Evans, for the win!), and the fun chemistry to boot, between the two leads (Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff). Being a geek, I also read more about Sharon Carter, played by Emily VanCamp of Revenge, pleasant surprise there. So it seems that it will get pretty more exciting in the Marvel universe. We can't wait for the rest of the Marvel movies.

Anyhow, back to our haul, you ought to know that this shopaholic-stage-mom can be pretty devoted to certain stuff, like how I was with Lightning McQueen of Disney Cars. So yesterday, fresh from beautiful hangover of Captain America, we went shopping. Since son need a wardrobe update for our upcoming trip, we got him a whole lot of Marvel-ous stuff from The SM Store in Megamall.

Captain America Graphic Tees. How much do we love Captain America? Let me count thee. Still, we like things simple and elegant. Captain America's shield beautifully captivates us! So yes, we got our first ever family shirts. I got mine and hubby too. Aloha!
I like more the material and the designs of the shirts in The SM Store teens' section than in the Kids' section. We got the smallest size available for our son.

Spider-Man's merchandise are pretty amazing too. We got him a couple of shirts and a zip-up hoodie light jacket.

There's an ongoing promotion in the Teens' wear of the The SM Store in SM Megamall, get a raffle ticket for every purchase of a Amazing Spider-Man 2 shirt. Prizes are movie passes.

I will not keep you on your Sundates. Enjoy the rest of the weekend! Cheers! ^_^

Miles & More {Star Alliance} Flight Awards

Sometime ago, I posted about my hubby's Miles & More Frequent Traveler Membership updates. From then to now, he earned reasonable miles to actually qualify redeeming corresponding flight awards. By the way, Miles & More is Lufthansa's Airline Program. His member airline was Lufthansa just because our first long haul flight together was in Germany.

Lufthansa is a member airline of Star Alliance. Although, we're members of several, if not most, airline programs, just because at some point, we cannot choose our flights, especially if they're business-related travel, and for the personal travel, we consider promo fares vs. loyalty to a specific airline program (because of the high travel tax rates to claim flight awards). Sad but practical. Anyhow, we're traveling again in a couple of weeks, and the miles he accumulated were enough to get us domestic, round trip flight awards from Los Angeles (LAX) to Chicago (ORD). Oh happier days! *LoL And for what amount? Read on to find out, you'll be pleasantly informed.

Windy City, here we come!  Miles & More {Star Alliance} Round Trip Flight Awards. Los Angeles and Chicago via United Airlines.
In Manila, to claim flight awards from Miles & More, you have to visit its office in Phinma Plaza, Rockwell Plaza, adjacent to Nestle.

Lufthansa Miles & More Office in Manila Source: Credit
Now for the fun part, LAX to ORD round trip flight is considered a domestic travel flight award. So it costed us fewer miles per person, and only (dun, dun, duuuun!)....$5 each. Winner! My hubby's similar flight last time, just because it was book a week before, costed us $600+. Today's rate via United Airlines is about $350+ per person. Nice, right? The only downside is United Airlines, unlike Southwest Airlines, which we also took last time, and will also be taking this time to another leg of our domestic travel, doesn't offer free checked-in baggage allowance. So for sure, we have a baggage for checked-in, so it's additional $25 each first checked-in baggage. Oh well! You can't win them all!

In fairness, Philippine Airlines (PAL) will always be closer to my heart, but my goodness, it's so hard, and so costly to claim flight awards! So, no thanks! So for the mean time, we're mighty compelled to keep loving Miles & More/Star Alliance, I wouldn't complain since if I'll have my way, it's Asiana all the way, baby! ^_^ Cheers! ^_^

Charming Café Latte Art at Subspace Coffee House

Annyeong! ^_^ Sweetness. I finally found this much-raved Korean vibe cafe. I remember reading about it, but I didn't deliberately look for it, until I realized that it's so accessible to us. Possibly walking distance to some, but not to us. Hah. Anyhow, there's a pay parking area adjacent to it, so that solves it.

So on one of my date day with my son, we went for a visit. We were pleasantly surprised. It's a busy place to begin with, as it was almost jam packed, but once we were able to settle down, we felt the very inviting ambiance. Everyone is just taking their sweet time relishing their drinks and food, plus taking selfie or selca amid the quaint interiors. Aha moment! I guess that's where the 'subspace' concept comes alive, the place is a delightful escape amid the hustle and bustle of Ortigas Center living.

Iced and Hot Purple Potato Latte. Super cute.  Bear Love Latte Art. Yum! Kyeopta! ^_^ It's purple yum, or Ube, right? Or is it kamote? But anywhow, if you love ube jam or cake, this will be a delightful treat.
Such a cozy place to dine and unwind. There's an extensive menu of food and drinks to explore. Various K-Pop merchandise are also available for sale.
My Date.
While waiting, doting on Samsung Galaxy Note 3 for some play time. More pictures, I just can't take enough photos of him.  Plus the place showcases unique furniture pieces and designs. This side please, the other way. So many possible #photooftheday #pixoftheday OoTD: Giordano
We fell in love with the Cucumber Kani Croissant. We're stuffed. Since I was on a special diet then (*Lol), I had to miss out on the latte. So today, with my friend, I went back and fell in love with café latte...the drink and the artwork. I can't wait for more.

I love coffee, tea, and almost everything in between. Plus, I'm a big Hallyu fan, and the place is very, very Seoul-ful. Yay! There's so much more to try in this charming coffee house. I usually see leaves, tulips, and hearts on my latte. With the higher level of intricacy devoted in the in every Subspace Coffee drinks, bear, and what have you, I'm sold! Teehee! ^_^

Subspace Coffee is located at Unit 103, GF Grand Emerald Tower, F. Ortigas Jr. Road, Ortigas Center, Pasig 1606

More Happy Days at Active Fun SM Megamall

Fun-tastic news, finally, there's an Active Fun SM Megamall branch.

If I'll have my way, play dates will always be in Active Fun. But the nearest branch to us is Active Fun, The Fort, we can't go all the time.

The play area is a great venue to promote active play. The branch in The Fort is huge enough to keep my son exercised entertained. This is better than playing with Mine Craft or Flappy Bird.

Some time ago, I got a good deal from Metro Deal. I bought 4 coupons.

Looks fun. Grand Opening on April 4, 2014. Regular play rates for unlimited play is Php 395.
We love this play area. So I'm thrilled that there's now a branch in SM Megamall located at the 5th Level Building Mega Fashion Hall. Plus there's a whole lot of things to do now in SM Megamall (e.g. ice skating, bowling, etc.). I love it! Play date soon! Cheers! ^_^

I'm a Happy 1200 Calorie-Dieter | Fave Diet Delivery in Manila (Updated}

I'm absolutely delighted to be able to almost commit to a diet program..finally, I'm getting there! #WishMeLuck

Sometime ago, I mentioned that I'm pursuing a 1200-Calorie Diet Plan, to date, I'm on my 18th day (3 full weeks less weekends, and 3 Days).

I'm a girl with a hearty appetite, it's been a struggle to go back to my pre-pregnancy weight, and that was eight years ago. Aisshh!  Suffice it to say that albeit I seemed desperate, cocktail-ed dozens of diet pills and teas (except Bangkok Pills. Hah.), but more often than not, the urge always win! I just had a thousand and one excuses, now a little lesser. Plus, I don't even take kindly to the challenges that my husband post to me, instead, I take offense and rebel and eat a whole lot more! Oh my, this was even with paid incentives to please lose weight. I'm usually a hopeless case, except when I'm inspired (and that is usually when the Korean fangirl obsessive mode kicks in! haha!) So I'm happy to say, that this 1200-Calorie Diet Program is something that's workable for me.

So far, I tried three companies or diet delivery providers, namely The Happy Diet, Lunchbox Diet, and Happy Diet Delivery. Tomorrow will be my third week with Happy Diet, spot on, I can say that this is my fave 1200-Calorie Diet Meal Plan provider to date.

Love:  The flavorful, multi-cuisine and satisfactory servings of the three main meals. I absolutely look forward to each meal. 90% of the main meals, I love.  The snacks usually have the fat burning soup, and a fruit serving.  The snacks are not really on the sweet side, not a cup cake or cookie. Initially, I was concerned because I'm a dessert person, and that's the closest thing to satiate my cravings. Overtime, my sweet cravings are controllable. I can do away with desserts. Although, lately, I'm so busy with work, that I missed on snacking. It's not recommended, as it's best to eat frequently, 5 meals in total (3 Main, 2 Snacks).
Since I love food, and dine outs, regardless of cuisines, Happy Diet delivers in making me feel that I'm not tediously on a diet! I'm feeling less deprived every time. Plus I can feel the tender loving care in the food preparation. Happy Diet Delivery cost Php 2500/ 5 Days. You can reach them in their Instagram account @HappyDietDelivery.

The Happy Diet is another provider that I tried, and might probably also consider to trying back. In a spur of the moment decision, I started mid week with them, and I'm grateful that they were able to take me in. The 5-Day week 1200-Meal Plan subscription costs Php 2000. The main meals were also as nice as Happy Diet Delivery's, while the snacks can almost pass as desserts. I especially love the trail mix. Since you got some calories skewed on the snacks, the main meals would appear lesser than that of Happy Diet Delivery's. In time, when I'm used to eating really little just right, and already acquired that habit, it's a relatively more affordable alternative to Happy Diet Delivery.

You can reach The Happy Diet on their official FB Page.

Lastly, and certainly for those with innately little appetite to eating,  there's Lunchbox Diet.  I started with a high expectation of the Lunchbox Diet, it has a great following, plus it's the most affordable of the three that I I tried at Php 1700 for the 5-Day Subscription. As expected, they are very efficient, nicely packed cutlery set. And yes, they got me at their desserts snacks. But personally, the main meals spelled that I was on diet (most can use a little bit of salt and flavors please). Although, my average daily weight loss while on them were a bit higher, I was dropping close to a pound per day. So it must be the upside.

You must think that I'm already back to my pre-pregnancy weight (I was 10 pounds away when I started), well, I'm not yet there! I'm still a couple of pounds shy away from it. I can say that it would have been sooner, on my second week, after Lunchbox diet, if only I didn't go partying that Friday night and went on a bit of a drinking fest. The week after that, not by choice, but we had to go on a buffet, believe me I was already trying hard, but my best wasn't enough. I like that Happy Diet Delivery gave me a cheat day guide, no pork and fried. This weekend, I almost did comply. So let's see next week. I will update this post on an ongoing basis.

Updates!!! June 18, 2014

From last time, I actually went back to my pre-pregnancy weight. Yay! But, after our month-long vacay in the US, plus a weekend in Hong Kong. I gained most of it back! Oh no!

For a week, I tried doing it on my own without a Diet Subscription, enough said, I couldn't do it. So I went to try another diet subscription, Plan Eat.

First ever deliver came with an Eco Bag.
I started June 2. Still on it today (June Wk 3)

Plan Eat Program 1200-Calorie Menu
With Plan Eat Program, 1200-Calorie Diet Plan is only Php 1200 ++ (Delivery Charge), so yes, the price is very, very right!

I think what makes the price workable is the white rice instead of a more expensive red/brown rice. But white rice has more calories, so the viands tends to be lesser. Still very flavorful. For the two snacks, you get a fruit surprise and a treat (chocolate cake, cheese cake etc.). It comes with a coffee (90 calories), what I do since I need my coffee,  I switch it with the sugar free version at 45 calories each. I get to enjoy two cups instead of just one.

My only problem is I'm only human I'm so easy to get. I cheat, even harder on weekends! So I'm still a couple more pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight. With white rice (still at 1200-calorie meal plan), the average daily weight loss is one pound, with 99% compliance to the plan. Take note. Hah.

But I want to be on a 120ish level. Oh yeah, bring it on. Aja! Aja! Fighting! I think I need to exercise. Hmmm.

So yes, that's it for me today. I will keep you posted.

And no before and after selfie or selca just yet, we will get there! Let's do this! Cheers! ^_^

Change ahead, please wait | Random

Oh my! Things have gotten from busy, to busier, and to (a whole lot) busiest. Whew, it's all in the mind, right? I have a hundred and one things waiting to be rave, and to rant at some extent (although I don't usually do rant), but I'm mostly tired. Ah yeah, those thousand and one excuses...Boo me! I couldn't even diligently do the #100HappyDays project. Utter sadness. Anyhow, I am committed to do something about everything....oh well, perhaps baby steps to getting things done, here and there! So yes, let's do this!

While I get a strong foothold of the "new normal", please wish me luck and please don't go away!

Happy weekend! Summer vacation is here at last, and we'll make it a spectacular summer to remember! Cheers! ^_^

Saforelle Gentle Cleansing Care Wash {Favorite Feminine Wash}

Hello! Hello! So maybe, I'm really back for good.
Sometime ago (as in late last year), I discovered Saforelle. It's a brand that is also close to my heart.

Saforelle Gentle Cleansing Care.
I love it. I got a sample, I liked it. I've been buying ever since. I get my refills in Pioneer Centre Supermarket.

100 ml sells for Php 159.75 (Also available in 60 ml for Php 99.75.)
Product Features: Soap-Free, Paraben-Free, Mild Alkaline pH Formula with Burdock that gentle cleans without irritation to sensitive skin, and is formulated by medical experts for daily use. Made in France.
Swatch. It comes in clear, lightly-scented (reminiscent of baby shampoo) liquid formula. Use as a liquid soap.
It leaves a clean and refreshing scent and feel all throughout. Minimizes irritations, and cares for my skin, gently, but surely. All the good ingredients packed in a gentle, but superior cleansing and caring formulation. Burdock and Lavandula Angustifolia Oil (English Lavender) are known for their caring, soothing and calming properties.

France will always have a special place in my heart, knowing that this is a leading body and intimate hygiene wash sold in pharmacies throughout France, I'm naturally inclined to like it! I'm glad that it's now available here, and is priced reasonably. A little goes a long way, but I just tend to use it more frequently because I love, love, love the smell and the refreshing and cleansing feel it leaves my skin thereafter. It's a new product, launched last Q4 of 2013, but it's already available in leading supermarkets.

Have you tried Saforelle? I hope you'll love it as much as I do.
What's your feminine wash brand?
Please do share. Cheers! ^_^

Mezcal Con Guzano, Speculoos Cookie Butter and More {Pasalubong}

So happy to be back (almost).
A couple of weeks ago, my better half had to go to Mexico City for work. (So that's why I'm all by myself during our LSGH Grade 3 Family Day, and I didn't go on a Valentine's Date, but he did surprise me with flowers and cake, thank you Hon! So sweet!) Anyhow, he had an extended layover (2 days) in Los Angeles. It allowed him for some time to visit family, and a little bit of shopping.

Fruit, Nuts and More. Street Vendors. Scene from Mexico.
Because he knows I love to drink. Just Kidding. So this is Mezcal Con Gusano (with worm/larva). Here's an interesting read about Tequila and Mezcal. He got it for about 280 Mexican Peso.
Mezcal Reposado El Platanar Con Gusano or with worm. Apparently, the worm, is a larva found from the Agave Plant. It sort of show high proof of quality that if the worm remains intact, then the percentage of alcohol is high enough to preserve it. Made from 100% Agave. We learned that this is a popular Mexican drink from Agave Plant.
At times, I can be quite a drinker, haha! Salud!
It was mostly work, so he had little time to tour, although it was not the first trip in Mexico.

LAX bound. I know for sure that he wouldn't have enough time to go to my usual favorite stops namely SephoraBath and Body WorksOutlet StoresTJ Maxx, etc, I just demanded requested for him to please make sure to get some stuff. I couldn't possibly ask him to get me more makeups. So for the moment, we're happy and grateful for these!

L'il Critters Gummy Vitamins for son. Soymilk for the whole family Trader Joe's Cookie Butter.
Definitely, he needed to visit Costco. Initially, he was supposed to bring two boxes of Soymilk (Plain and Vanilla), but, oh my, a box is about 20 kg. Although, he did have more baggage allocations since he's on Business Class, he could only bring a box and a half. My shopping list originally mentioned Silk in Chocolate flavor. Although, son is also okay with Silk Original. But in Costco, that time, it only had the smaller, ready to drink packs.

Chic & Sassy Tip: We love soy milk because some brands have more calcium servings. Plus it's effortless to drink. But not all soy milk tastes nice. Do taste test. Even in Silk, we don't like the Pure Almond Vanilla, but we love the Pure Almond in Dark Chocolate.

Youth Theory. Collagen. Age beautifully. Bring it on! It's an affordable alternative to Collagen Drinks (recommended usage of ivi Premium Collagen Ready to Drink at Php 199/bottle/day), this one sells for $20+ for 390 tablets at 6 tablets/day, that's good for 65 Days. Although, lesser in collagen content or serving (ivi's 10,000 mg, while Youth Theory has 6,000 mg), so far, so good. Here's to taking baby steps to aging beautifully. (Although every so often, I still take pleasure in indulging with iVi, I deserve a treat, don't I?)

Trader Joe's, we will meet soon! We requested for the now-ever-popular pasalubong from the US, Speculoos Cookie and Crunchy Cookie Peanut Butter.

I also got more jeans from Macy's (most of my pants are from Macy's Style and Co. line, I love the Petite Short style, and the tummy control features). We got chocolate, bed sheets, towels, and more. Thank you to our ever dearest relatives for everything!

I love California! Till next time, then! Cheers! ^_^
