Red Hair for the Love Month ;-D

Annyeonghaseyo! ^^ I'm excited to share my latest hair color soiree. I braved doing it again, well, it's very compelling to get it done, pronto! Because love is in the air *Happy Heart's Day! *LoL and it's the Chinese New Year week, and I can use a whole lot of lucky color red. ;-D Plus my crush @JGshock Lee Jun Ki is sporting such hair style. Hah! Naturally, with my penchant for almost everything Seoul-ful I had it done to a Korean Salon, Makarizo, where I had my haircut last month. Without further ado...here goes.

Tada! ;-D
It's a L'OrĂ©al shade with a Iridescent Red something. Sorry, I will ask again when I have the time. I was too excited!
For a full color change, medium hair length, I paid Php 2000. Oh well...what can I do, I don't want to risk DIY.
Before. After.
Taken indoor, without flash.
Actually, in my heart, I would have wanted a brighter shade of red, see Lee Joon Gi's hair here  *LoL, but I'm not sure if I can confidently pull it off. And they didn't use bleach or did lightening procedure, so it appears a tamer reddish shade. My hair is naturally black though. It's already on its 4th night since I had it done, but the color still bleeds in the shower. I will let you know how it looks after a week. Hmmm, I told the salon that I'll have it redone, for free, in a week's time, if I am not too happy with it. What do you think? Any thoughts? ;-D

Review: The Brow Studio Design & Clean Up Express in SM Megamall

Hello! ^_^ Beautiful Sunday! I will not bore you on tales of my brow woes, but just so you know they can just really make or brake my confidence look. Anyhow, I finally found a go-to place for eye brow threading when in Manila. Remember that for the past 6 months, I usually go to Benefit Brow Bar but it's a bit pricey, plus I see myself getting breakouts after. But basically, threading is relatively safer than waxing, since it's a chemical free procedure. I just needed to find a right place to have my brows done. In terms of pain, waxing is relatively uneventful vs. threading. But threading just takes getting used to (I shed a tear or two, held my breath even), and it will be a walk in the park in time! Hah! ;-D

The Brow Studio 5th Floor, SM Megamall Bldg. A
For my first ever trip to the salon, a month after my last eye brow cleaning and grooming (and coming from my California trip), I initially asked for just clean-up, relatively more affordable at Php 188. But understandably, they're used to working at a standard pattern or design, so they recommended a Brow Design, which is assessing, reshaping, and discovering the perfect arch for your facial features (Php 328). It's still relatively more affordable than what I used to have, so I didn't mind.

The Brow Studio Brow Technician at Work. Full house baby. I had to wait a bit.
Such a cozy lounge chair.
Top: Before Photo. Bottom: During the Brow Design Procedure. Fret not about the redness, it goes away in no time, about an hour for me. Sensitive skin and all plus in fairness, they had a lot to work on.  *LoL
My Designed Brows with Majolica Majorca DIY Brow Tints.
During the brow design, they had yet to perfect that ideal design and shape, I needed to grow some hair on a specific area. Three weeks after, I went back for the clean-up express. They're almost there! ;-D

After Brows Clean-up Express and Upper Lip Threading.
Overall, I love it! Fret not about the pain, it dissipates fast. *LoL It's a chemical free procedure, except for some redness, no breakouts. It is required that you don't wet the area for four hours, I oblige! And guess what? I even had my upper lips threaded. It's the first, because I always use hair cream removers. And I had my share of irritations and burning, considering I have been doing it like forever so there was supposedly a degree of expertise. But promise, upper lip threading is the way to do it! It's a bit painful (perhaps since it's my first, and I didn't know what to expect), but safer, and nicer! ;-D

Updated: I went back to the salon for the third time. This time, I had my brows done, upper and also lower lip threading. So addicting! *LoL
Staff are nice, and capable to create flattering eye brows. And they do the whole threading process fast, so it keeps the lingering suspense every time they pull uneventful. And the price is very right. So yes, The Brow Studio delivers! Cheers! ;-D

Review: Innisfree Green Tea Pure Serum

Annyeonghaseyo! ^_^ I'm so in love with Lee Min Ho Innisfree! And yes, for the past three months (December 2012 to date), it's Innisfree all the way as my go-to skin care brand. It's nice that I have access to the brand from my ever so reliable eBay seller, and that I finally set foot in an Innisfree shop in Seoul to replenish my supplies. Yay! ;-D

Innisfree The Green Tea Seed Serum for KRW 22,000
Just about done. Product Description: The Green Tea Seed Serum is enriched with green tea seed and green complex from pure Jeju Island. Green Tea Pure revives dry, stressed skin by supplying abundant moisture.
Comes with a pump spout and a replaceable cover.
Swatch. Clear, watery consistency. Leaves light, not sticky feel. Dries and absorbs fast. Comes with a nice green tea scent, reminiscent of a Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Perfume! ;-D
I have a combination skin, mostly on the oily side...must be the sunny, humid weather in the Philippines. But the Green Tea Seed Serum is just perfect. It's a light moisturizer with a whole lot of nutritive beauty benefits of green tea. I haven't completely jumpship to the Innisfree Green Tea line, what I do is incorporate it my current must-have, can't-part-ways Innisfree Jejubija Anti-Trouble Care line. Updates: So I must actually use it prior to toner, instead of finishing routine. I wonder if it works the same with the Jejubija Line though. But I tried it, it seems fine, the absorption takes a while though, but leaves off lightweight feel.  So my skin care routine goes like this... after cleansing, it's Green Tea Seed Serum + Skin (for the Jejubija Line) + Lotion + Eco Science Spot Essence + Eye Cream + Jejubija Spot Essence W/R. Whew! ;-D
Top: Innisfree Green Tea Pure Deluxe Kit. I got this as gift with purchase from my Innisfree Insadong Shopping.  Below: Innisfree Green Tea Pure Cream and swatch. I got this from my eBay shopping as gift with purchase before my Seoul Stopover. The Green Tea Pure Cream comes with the same clear, but slightly thicker in consistency than the serum. I like the packaging of the Serum, which comes in a pump spout bottle plus it's recognized as one of the bestseller of Innisfree so I went on getting the full size of the serum.  I have yet to try the whole Innisfree Green Tea line, I will be back for another post. ;-D
Innisfree Green Tea Skincare Line Ingredients and Sequence of usage. I also have the Innisfree Green Tea Pure Mineral Mist, although still haven't find time to use it. But I will once I try the whole line.
Overall, as aforesaid, the Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum more than nice, it's aptly suited for my skin-type, complements my existing skin care routine, and reinforces the same nutritive benefits of Jeju Island green complex. No breakouts. Although, for my hubby's dry skin type, it's not as moisturizing as it should be in a California December weather. He needed to use a whole lot of it, or reinforced it with another moisturizer (Skin Food Gold Caviar Line). As for me, when we're in California, I needed to dispense more than my usual one or two pumps in the Philippines. Anyhow, it's always finding the right line for your skin care type.

Me, myself, and I. Makeup Free. ;-D
Will I recommend it? For the combination skin type, in a sunny, humid weather, this is more than nice! ;-D Will I repurchase? Definitely! So yes, I need another Seoul Trip very soon! Cheers! ^^

Luxurious Chinese New Year at Spiral

Bonjour! Mabuhay! Life is beautiful. My first media event for this year was a luxurious lunch buffet at Spiral of Sofitel Manila for the preview of the auspicious Chinese New Year special menu. Happy New Year! ;-D

The grand staircase leading to the New Spiral Buffet Restaurant that speaks of the grandeur of the gastronomic feast in store for the diners.
La Veranda at the New Spiral
One of the highlight of the New Spiral, aside from the 21 Dining Ateliers, is the La Veranda.  It's an adjoining indoor lounge with access and view of the iconic lagoon-shaped pool of Sofitel Manila.
Experience a luxe Chinese New Year Celebration like no other at Spiral.
Preview of the sumptuous Spiral's Chinese New Year Menu by Executive Chinese Chef Chee Wah Mok.
Start the festivities with the Dragon Dance on the 9th and 10th February.  Enjoy the Chinese New Year’s Eve or day with auspicious food specially prepared for the celebrations.  Start with an appetizer such as Chinese Raw fish salad (Yee Sang), eight treasure fish lip soup then move to the wok station where you can sample wok fried scallop with XO chili sauce,  wok fried sparerib with golden garlic Cantonese style.  At the noodle station make sure you try the Bak Kut Teh noodle soup and complete the meal with roasted Peking duck.  Save the best for last with Chinese desserts such as warm sweetened coconut milk with sweet potato and warm papaya white fungus soup.

Book a private dining room in advance which can accommodate 12 people.
One of the 21 Dining Ateliers. Artisans at work. Spiral's Korean Cuisine Offering. Annyeonghaseyo! You know I love almost everything Seoul-ful! ^_^
Oh yes, that's 21 Dining Ateliers! Wow! In France, an atelier is an artist’s special workshop, and in Spiral it is where secret recipes are masterfully prepared right before your very eyes. The range of cuisines is expansive and the attention and detail to each dish has the focus of an artisan.

More feasting follows. The Orient Express Fashion Show features the Orient Express collection of Dubai based designer,  Albert Andrada in cooperation with shu uemura.
Overall, this is heaven for a gourmand like me. In fact, I'm already satiated just by looking at all the extravagant food options, cuisine varieties, intricate and elaborate preparations and presentations. It must be the luxurious and elegant vibe all over...Spiral emanates a royal buffet! C'est Magnifique! Truthfully, there must be an art in conquering going around all those 21 dining ateliers. I wonder what and how. I need practice. In time...

About Me

My Photo

Wifey to JB and Mommy to Chasey :) It's said that one's eyes are windows to one's soul. True! My eyes twinkle when I'm happy, they light up with my smile. I’m no frills! I'm easy to read (except during Poker). I easily get teary eyed on practically both happy and sad things. I'm overly emotional! UP,Toy Story 3, and Glee made me cry with delight. My hubby is my source of strength. He balances that side of my personality. He made me a more self-reliant person.I love being a mom. But be it known that I tend to be OC, paranoid, and definitely see my self as a stage mom.I can't help but throw him parties every year.I love to read. If there is a lifetime membership to Book Lover's Club, I've probably signed in as early as Grade 1. I'm blessed to have a special relationship with God. He is my confidante. I practically talked to him anywhere and anytime about anything. I'm a Kapampangan and supposedly known for having culinary skills. This still needs to be found perfected, but for sure, I can say I'm a gourmand!I love to eat and it shows!Oh well!Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder and Happiness is only a state of mind. From today onwards, I intend to live in a Happy Mode!Cheers!
