Birthday Dinner | Akira, The Art of Sushi and Teppanyaki

Oh my, time flies, our love of our life is now a happy eight-year old little man! We're all in for a treat...it's Teppanyaki birthday dinner at Akira, The Art of Sushi and Teppanyaki.

Our Birthday Boy
One of the Three Teppanyaki Table  in the Dining Area.
We ordered one Set A 4 Japanese Wagyu, and two orders of Set B US Rib-Eye Prime. Oh Kobe, maybe next time! ^_^
My photos would not do justice of the goodness of the Wagyu, and of the whole meal. My son calls it as the best fried rice ever. I say the Wagyu, you get what you pay for, Php 2178++ for 100g of it! Yum! I wish I can have more! In fact, we're all far too busy and too eager to dig in. My hubby was even bringing his DLSR but stopped taking photos once we started eating. Haha!
All orders are served with Chicken, Shrimp, Beef, Vegetables, Miso Soup and Fried Rice. It's more or less similar to Rocky's Choice of Benihana minus salad and ice cream.  Anyhow, we shared the three sets, 3 Adults (us and my brother in law), and Chase. We did not order any additional from the a la carte menu, what's in the set is actually a handful already. Dividing the 3 set menus among us is fairly reasonable. The Chef actually does a very good job of dividing it among us. Hmmm...but with the goodness of Wagyu and the Rib-Eye Steak, a serving can actually be good for one hungry Juan or Juana, like yours truly! ^_^
And let the show begins... it starts with the fire trick.
It's a first for us in Manila, so we couldn't help but compare it with our Benihana experience.  It's a pleasant surprise that our Chef for the night was a former Benihana chef. So he's fairly familiar with the entertainment part of Teppanyaki. He did the egg trick, and a couple more. But still, Benihana is Benihana, it's entertainment at its finest! But the food is as amazing, in fact even better ( Wagyu FTW! ;-D)! Plus you get good service, the place is nice, and you don't actually end up smelling food...so Akira, we'll be sure to be back for more!
The Birthday Family!
We had fondest memories of our Benihana Teppanyaki experience last time, we're all looking forward to try the experience in Manila, and we're glad that Akira did not disappoint! Happy Birthday Chasey! Cheers!

Akira, The Art of Sushi and Teppanyaki is located at the 5th Floor Shangri-la Plaza Mall, Shaw Blvd cor EDSA Wack Wack, Mandaluyong.

About Me

My photo

Wifey to JB and Mommy to Chasey :) It's said that one's eyes are windows to one's soul. True! My eyes twinkle when I'm happy, they light up with my smile. I’m no frills! I'm easy to read (except during Poker). I easily get teary eyed on practically both happy and sad things. I'm overly emotional! UP,Toy Story 3, and Glee made me cry with delight. My hubby is my source of strength. He balances that side of my personality. He made me a more self-reliant person.I love being a mom. But be it known that I tend to be OC, paranoid, and definitely see my self as a stage mom.I can't help but throw him parties every year.I love to read. If there is a lifetime membership to Book Lover's Club, I've probably signed in as early as Grade 1. I'm blessed to have a special relationship with God. He is my confidante. I practically talked to him anywhere and anytime about anything. I'm a Kapampangan and supposedly known for having culinary skills. This still needs to be found perfected, but for sure, I can say I'm a gourmand!I love to eat and it shows!Oh well!Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder and Happiness is only a state of mind. From today onwards, I intend to live in a Happy Mode!Cheers!
