Party DIY: Christening Favors, Balloons, and Cake

Cheers to more party planning DIY feats! Although, I thought that my party planning stints will take back stage this year, but no-t! My recent was my son’s 7th birthday, and so far, we agreed that we won’t have elaborate parties for him anymore, he’s now swayed to do other stuff like perhaps a trip (my wish!) or just an intimate gathering with his friends and ours. Until recently, I thought that I wouldn’t plan a party anytime soon, but fret not, we have a new baby in our family, my nephew baby Yvo and another nephew coming soon. And you ought to know that I’m a stage auntie, so bring on the parties! ^_^ His Christening day was earlier than originally planned because we had families moving out of the country soon, so it was quickly decided to hold it last time. I volunteered to do this and that! I did it a day before, and during the day itself! I’m feeling mighty happy! ^_^

So adorable! I got his Christening Outfit at SM Store in Megamall. Having attended SM Kids’ Fashion Week show from last time, I know that the babies line at SM Kids’ Fashion are equally adorable, and practically priced too. ^_^
For the favors to the Godparents and guests.  In the favor pack was a Rosary, a Holy Name of Jesus Prayer Card, and The Cross Prayer. I bought all at The St. Paul Store in SM Megamall. The personalized Prayer Card prayer goes…
“May angels keep you night and day.
And Mary guide you on your way.
May Jesus ever fill your heart
With peace He only can impart
All this and more,
I ask for you,
Blessings to last your whole life through. ”
I printed the personalized Prayer card and the sticker. Thanks to my ever reliable HP Printer. Sticker paper and card stock for the prayer card. I recommend getting a matte sticker paper than glossy to avoid smudging. I used the picmonkey.com for the photo layout and designing.
Balloon Centerpieces. Ahhh…would have wanted to use Qualatex, but no time to buy.
Goldilocks Chocolate Marble Cake 16 x 24.

Thanks to Nido and Smart Parenting, I have Goldilocks Gift Certificates to use and to gift to my heart’s delight.  I went to SM Megamall Goldilocks branch the day before (Friday), since we’re coming from Manila, and the event was in Pampanga, I thought I can order in Manila and pick up in Pampanga. It seemed pretty complicated, so I opted otherwise. Although they were very helpful. Plus to get a Baptism Cake with themed decors etc, it needed at least 3 days lead time to order it. So the better option was just to get the standard cake in Pampanga, hoping for the biggest size to be available. I just bought a Decorate Your Cake Baby Boy Christening Topper. I requested for more blue floral icing decors at minimal additional cost.

Tadaa! ^_^ …with the DYC Goldilocks Baptism Topper. It’s a butter icing cake, so we had to keep it in a cool A/C place prior to the event.

Although, we had a major mishap with the caterer! I don’t want to talk about it! But overall, Yvo is a happy Christian boy now! Welcome to the Christian World Baby Yvo! ^_^  …Will soon be planning your first birthday party! Haha! Cheers!  ^_^
