S&R Shopping Everyday

Everyday is a bit over, maybe every other day, or every other two days. *LoL It's fairly recent that we found ourselves addicted to S&R... moving to Manila makes Clark Duty Free Shopping something to be thoroughly missed, so we found ourselves applying for membership at S&R BGC. And then we find ourselves loving the food from the food service plus the bakery, so much so that hubby had to get a extension card with added fees of course, so he can visit there as much as he please during work days and get our refills of baked goodies. So is the membership fee of Php 700 (+ Php 400 for the extension) worth it? I guess so. ^_*
S&R at Bonifacio Global City. The Food Service/Restaurant was jampacked during the Mother's Day weekend.
S&R Bonifacio Global City Shopping Area
S&R San Fernando Pampanga Dining and Shopping Area. The dining area here is bigger and more organized. I find that there are more lines and brands available in the toiletry section in S&R Pampanga than the S&R BGC's. Pricing here is relatively almost competitive with Clark's duty free shops.
SALE finds. We bought a couple of pack of these Keebler Soft Batch Choco Chip  (Sale Price Php 99/ Expiring July 2012) in S&R BGC, as expected days after when we went back, it's OOS (out of stock). So when I visited last time in Pampanga, I bought 6 packs. We finished the first pack before I took the photo, haha. ;-D I wasn't a fan of this Keebler Soft Batch at first, we're more the Chocolate Lovers kind, but after trying them warm (in the microwave), the Soft Batch Cookies are love, love, love. Chase, my 6-yr old son, adores these much.
The fresh section offers a variety of fruit choices as well. Take the Driscoll's strawberries which Chase picked.
Strawberry Love...it's huge! ;-D Oh my, a pack of Driscoll's sells for Php 400+, it was a treat for Chase.
Lemon Berry Ring Cake is our favorite from all others, we tried the Apple Berry, the Rum Cake, but we like this the most.
The Chicken Ceasar Salad Php 160+ available at the Food Service. I adore this much. ;-D
And my other favorite part, shopping for home care and hair care products...Downy, Dove Nourishing Oil Care Conditioner with Argan Oil, Ajax Liquid Bleach Detergent.
S&R is perhaps our version of Costco Warehouse Shopping. There are a lot of product samplings and demos in store, so it gets pretty fun. Although, most are sold in big/wholesale sizes, so if you're in the mood to stack up, this is a good way. Local products are priced about the same in the local supermarkets, except you have to buy in packs of two's, three's etc. And the lines are not complete. But the basic and the fast-moving SKU's are available. Surprisingly, some items (e.g. Dentiste Toothpaste) is sold cheaper here for Php 220+ vs. supermarket's Php 250+. The best part is the SALE Promotions, and they're such great finds too, take the cookies for example, the expiration date is still a couple of months away, vs. the usual days or week/s. So most are still good finds. Sometimes, they put a product on discounts, such that it's almost the same as US selling price. Although Costco Shopping remains the undisputed haven for retail therapy because of coupons, and hefty discounts on some selected promoted items and on wholesale packs, but since Costco or duty free shopping is a couple of miles away plus a hundred/thousand pesos flight away, I'm happy with S&R. LoL* But mind you,  the food selections, although limited, are actually compelling enough to visit S&R. ;-D...super looking forward and saving for next big S&R sale. Cheers! ;-D

Review: Kanebo Kate Pencil Eyeliner + FOTD

Hello. Hello. I'm back. I'll kick it off with a beauty post. Yay!  Not to preempt but, my, my, I have to say that the Kanebo Kate is most definitely my go-to pencil eyeliner. ;-D

Kanebo Kate Pencil Eyeliner BK-1 sells for Php 720 at SM Megamall Watsons Counter
Product Feature: An Eyeliner Pencil that works like a liquid eyeliner. Source: Official Kate Website
It is an automatic eyeliner pencil. Unlike a retractable eyeliner, once you twist it up (click, click), that's it. You can't pull it back down, so you have to be careful on turning, so as not too twist it too far. 2 or 3 clicks can do the trick, depending on how thin or thick you want the line to be. Since you have to work on it sideways, I reckon to just go for 2-3 clicks, then extend it some more as I go along.
Swatch. The pigment, the velvety finish, and the lasting power are superb.
Staying Power...for the win! (That's a big drop of water!) After several painstaking rubbing, which in fact left my arm red with that much effort exerted to test it out,  it can stay smudge-free and can survive usual eye rubbing and scratching. I consciously make an effort to avoid doing so, or else Hello Wrinkles! Similarly, it takes some effort to remove it too. My regular facial wash won't do, to hasten the process, a make-up remover  (or wipes) would do the trick, although it need not be the strongest kind.
The "thick"-because-I'm-in-a-hurry line. *LoL with some shimmers from the Skin Food Byulsatang Lip and Eye Tint.
The 'thinner' line. Base: Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. Eye Shadow: Urban Decay Vegan Palette URB/ Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette VANILLA/ Mascara: Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus Eyeliner: Kanebo Kate Pencil Eyeliner. I have more FOTD's with it after my MUD-Manila makeup class, I'd made sure to practice, practice, practice ;-D P.S. Photo taken after a very long day. So I don't look as fresh. But the eye makeup still looks great, methinks. ;-D
#Instagram FOTD: Face: Hera HD Foundation Moist No 21/ Lips: Majolica Majorca Rouge Majex over NYX Edge Pink Lip Liner
What's to love?
  • The pigment and the lasting power exude a liquid-type overall effect.
  • The thin, pointy pencil type allows for a firm and precise grip for that easier application. It's thinner than your average pencil eye liners.
  • With minimal 'erasures' per se, means less rubbing = 0/Less Irritations
Overall, applying eyeliner every so often can still be an ordeal for me, although, it's my must have for that everyday, and my much coveted a la Korean Drama Star-esque effect. I've some great liquid eyeliners finds, but still, a pencil-type is still the quickest way for me to achieve the look. I'm on a look out for a superb pigment, lasting power, and versatility to draw thin and thick lines. After trying out Kanebo Kate's eyeliner lines, this type suited me best. It allows for precise eye lining application, so yes, it's an innovative eye pencil liner, indeed. At first, I was hesitant, because it's not retractable per se, but fret not, the clicking sounds from twisting and turning tell on that it requires conscious effort just how far back to extend it. More often than not, I like to work with a sizable 'pencil', so I usually turn it a few more after my initial lining. And then I do it again for the next eye. Will I repurchase? Definitely. I have a friend who's going to Japan for a visit this June, I plan to try a lot more. ;-D Although it seemed the SRP (Suggested Retail Price) is just about Php 50+ lesser in Japan (I wonder), so if there's a sale at the Watsons, it's more compelling to buy locally instead. So could this be my Holy Grail of Pencil Eyeliners? Oh yes, most definitely!

Retail Therapy: SkinFood and Innisfree Shopping

Annyeonghaseyo! Here's a quick shopping spree post. You ought to know any Seoul-ful related activity (shopping, dining, and KDrama) is an easy-peasy source of momentary euphoria for yours truly. #SuperficialMuch Oh well...
Got my SkinFood Ph Privilege Card. Great timing,  when I went to back to Pampanga (I'm still here by the way for a family emergency!) Marquee Mall was on a 3-Day Sale, and so was SkinFood. Got these (Byulsatang Lip & Eye Tint No 2 Gold Star and Milk Coral, SkinFood Orange and Mint Body Wash) at 50% off. The Gold Star (Eye Tint) is more of a highlighter. While I have initial concerns on the pigments of most SkinFood lip tints, a full application of a matching lip liner shade can do the the trick. Let's see about this. I like the initial scent of the body wash, it reminds me of my fave Bath & Body Works Nectarine Mint line.
My recent eBay wins...SkinFood Choco Smoky Nail Kit in Chic Brown. Please watch out for the coming N.O.T.D. post. ;-D
Trial Packs of Innisfree Eco Science Wrinkle Spot Essence. I buy these by tens. :-D Seriously addicting. Hmmm, besides having Lee Min Ho on Team Innisfree #FanGirlMode,  in time, I'm about to ready to jump ship to everything-Innisfree for my skincare must have's...will see about that. ;-D
I have more eBay wins and buys. I'll share them asap. Something's up, so I'm not yet on a giddy, smiley-laden posting mode... still trying to get a good hinge.

Cheers! :-D Any great Korean shopping finds? I would love to hear about them, so please do share. ;-D

My Week: Highlight & Lowlight

Hello. Hello. I'm here. There's some major happenings in my life, as in! I've been out and about celebrating successes, job hunting, getting myself a life insurance, attending media events,  Korean Cosmetics shopping, and/or majorly fighting my way up to some bad and ugly circumstances along the way...oh well, c'est la vie! The bad are hospital, emergency, and ICU visits. I will not dwell on these, greatest takeaway in all of these, to be always grateful...come what may. I pray not to falter.

Oh well! I'm saying a bright and sunny H.E.L.L.O. to Monday! Cheers! ;-D #PositiveVibes

5 Star Luxury Hotel in Manila Launches www.sofitelmanila.com

Bonjour! It was such a treat when I attended Sofitel Philippine Plaza's official website launching, www.sofitelmanila.com. Sofitel is Manila’s only five-star luxury resort hotel, and I look forward to every visit and stays. My son adores hotel stay so much,  such that he fondly refers to it as #fancyliving. Yay! ;-D In our effort to make every moment count, we make it a point to check out hotel websites and related travel reviews. More often than not, I find hotel websites not only lacking in details, but also too complicated to navigate. The new official site of Sofitel Manila reinvents the whole hotel website navigating experience to a whole new pleasing online soiree.

Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila...Standing tall next to sparkling Manila Bay.

Check out Sofitel Manila's Imperial Residence. I've been there, even just for a tour! *LOL C'est Magnifique!

Le Spa at a glance. Since I missed the tour to it, and being the spa junkie that I truly am, I had to check it out, and the virtual tour available at the website shows off  the luxe offerings of Le Spa...where French Savoir-Faire meets warm Filipino touch, as luxurious treatments are designed to refresh and renew the body, mind and spirit.
And when you book a room from the website, Sofitel guarantees you these...Best Price, Quality of Servie, Real-time Availability, and Secure Online Payment, plus among other luxury offerings that comes from Sofitel.
With the picture perfect images and intricate details easily accesible to a touch of a button, website navigating becomes so engaging and truly compelling for an actual world-class experience. The superb functionality of the site, be it for a room and/or event booking, appointment or inquiries to Sofitel's several dining, recreational and wellness facilities, is equally notable.  The website also features Sofitel Luxury Hotels worldwide offers, and allows guests to sign up for hotel newsletter subscriptions. Best of all, the state-of-the art virtual tours are available so that guests may virtually walk-through the hotel and its facilities from any part of the world.

Here are some photos I took on my actual visit to Sofitel Manila. I'll do a novelized more detailed post asap on my Sofitel Luxury Experience (seriously, to-die-for food & desserts, and my Imperial Residence tour). ;-D
Sofitel's iconic Lagoon-shaped Outdoor Pool...French Elegance on a Vibrant Tropical Setting indeed! ;-D
Oui!  HermΓ¨s for Hotel Amenities are available on the more pricey rooms and suites.
Fret not, L'Occitane is the standard hotel amenities. I actually have a share of these niceties because hubby gets to stay here for business meetings every so often, and I do tend to remind him over and over again to take these home. Yay! I love L'Occitane, I buy the full sizes at the shop.  ;-D
With the state-of-the-art conference rooms, Sofitel is set to deliver Inspired Meetings. So true! After the website launch,  which also coincided with the launch of the Elite Blogger Search Program, I'm compelled to aspire. ;-D
With the high-caliber website feature offerings, it appears that relieving/planning/dreaming the whole grand experience of a Sofitel stay and visit is just a site away.

For bookings and inquiries, visit www.sofitelmanila.com,  Facebook (Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila), Twitter (SofitelManila) and YouTube (Sofitel Manila Hotel).

IPANEMA Urban Jungle Collection...Spoil Your Sole

Hello again. This is just another great happening to show and tell. Last week, I was invited to Ipanema's Urban Jungle Fashion Show... to quote my son, it's legend of awesomeness overload.
The Bonifacio High Street Activity Center transformed into a mystical and magnificent Ipanema Fashion Runway with the sight and sounds reminiscent of the Urban Jungle.
The host was this supposed funny and quirky Caterpillar, who will eventfully transformed into a glamorous butterfly as its fellow animals strutted their way into the urban jungle, a place where there is boundless freedom to express one’s definitive flair and need for comfort. Indeed, it was a runway spectacle like no other. AMEN to that. WOW! ;-D Two guests were asked to step up the stage, and had the chance to try out and to own a pair. Nice. ;-D
Here are some shots I took. As my better Canon DSLR was taking a trip to Beijing without me yet again (LOL*), I had to settle with my iPhone4s to document. I was seated 3rd row (I was late, and missed the cocktails...boo me!).
The Vibrant and Sophisticated Peacock.
The Soaring Eagle.
The Sleek and Agile Pack of Wolves
The Sexy and Imperial Snake.
The Urban Jungle Mystical Animal Ensemble for the roaring finale.
It was such a feast for the senses. Theatrics aside, the whole fanfare is enchanting....the stage, the set-up, the lights, the sounds, the models' transformation to mystical jungle creature with their energy, costumes, makeup, coiffures and all. And then, there is of course my weakness... shoe wears! ;-D I have a handful pairs of IPANEMA flip-flops. My earliest pairs go as far back as 2007, and they are still very much alive, as in! But with their continuing releases of artful collections, I can't help but to get a new pair every so often. ;-D

A sneak peek of Ipanema's Urban Jungle Collection. Here are some of my favorites. ;-D What's yours? ;-D
Oh! So. Pretty! ;-D Oh! My!

Review: SkinFood Lavender Tea Salt Mask Foam

Annyeong! It's back to regular programming...Korean-related beauty post. ^_^
SkinFood Lavender Tea Salt Mask Foam is my latest wash-off mask addiction by SkinFood.
I got a trial pack initially as gift with purchase from my eBay shopping. It's love at first try. I bought more after.
SkinFood Lavender Tea Salt Mask Foam Product Description: A foaming cleanser infused with lavender tea and Himalayan salt that helps moisturize skin while washing away dirt and oil. Leaves skin soft and supple, like a facial mask does.

How to use: Dispense an ample amount onto wet palms and lather. Massage skin and wash off with lukewarm water. Splash with cold water for astringent effects.
Swatch. It's truly lavender-scented. ;-D With a littlest grains of salt a la iodized salt sizing. When you massage them, they melt...and it taste salty. LOL*
Seriously addicting. ;-D
I'm addicted, you can tell, I take time to cut them open just to make sure I used a pack to its fullest. LOL* After a while, you can tell that there's more in the sachet, it's just it's so hard to get it out. A pack is good for 2-3 times use, good for a week, when use every other day.
I adore exfoliating masks!!! In terms of personal preference, I have to rank the SkinFood Lavender Tea Salt Mask first, with SkinFood Black Sugar Mask as the second, and the Rice Mask as third. While all aforesaid masks leave my face squeaky clean, nourished, and supple, the Lavender Tea Salt Mask addresses some qualms related to the Black Sugar Mask with it having a bit of sizable sugar grains for its exfoliating beads. Plus, I still enjoy a lingering relaxing lavender-scented skin regimen, which is a minus point for an almost unscented Rice Mask. This makes the Lavender Tea Salt Mask, the go-between for those with sensitive skin, and choosy scent preference. So this is a winner. There's a green tea version, but since most of my facial cleansers are already green tea-infused and scented, a lavender is a welcome variety.

Me, Myself, & I...After a luxurious Lavender tea Salt Mask indulgence.
...and the Instagram version. LOL*
A trial/sample pack sells for Php 20 each from BHappywithme, the 170g full size is also available for Php 500++. I'll definitely get a full size very soon, it's just that I'm juggling usage with so many other Korean masks, and I can only use so much in a week's time. LOL* But I recommend this for all skin-types, it gives off the right moisturizing without the greasy feel at all, the deep cleansing without over drying...and so on and so forth. No breakouts too. Plus, if you're a fan of lavender-scented goodies, this will not disappoint. Cheers! ;-D
