My friend just came from Seoul few weeks ago, but then he told me that they weren't too keen to be adventurous in trying out the restaurants, so he was game for another Korean lunch today. There's several new restaurants, seriously more and more Korean restaurants here and there. But we don't really know which place is okay. I even tried searching online for some recommendations, but to no avail. So we ended up looking for the restaurant with most diners/cars parked, so trivial eh.;-D Lucky, we didn't strike out on our choice.
Instead of getting the usual samgyupsal (grilled pork belly), the server recommended that we try the Daeji Galbi. Lettuce comes in unlimited servings too, so we wrapped everything with it. We're stuffed. ;-D I'll definitely go back for the Daeji Galbi because they don't have that in the other restaurants that we frequent in the area. But I'm such a fan of dipping sauces, so I missed the oriental vinaigrette dressing from both Cheongwadae and Single Bungle. And also the complimentary Doenjang Jjigae soup. It's just great to try something new once in a while.
Overall, the place is clean and cozy, and feels more authentic. ;-D The service is better. I appreciate the initiative the servers offer in refilling our side dishes without even waiting to be asked. That's a big plus because I devour Korean side dishes. Pricing is relatively the same. They also have more offerings in their menu, they have soups and ramyun too. So yes, we'll definitely go back here again. Although, we want to be more outgoing in our food choices in the future. Any suggestions for us? :-D
Adorning the place are several Korean keepsakes...Wedding Duck Dolls. Traditional Couple Dolls. And a pair of Traditional Flower Shoes. Such Pretty things. :-D
Complimentary Side Dishes...quite a handful of them. They come in unlimited refills too. I appreciate how the server offered to give us another serving right away as soon as they're halfway done! ;-D
Snapped...with my good friend/food trip buddy. ;-D
We opted to go for the authentic experience.
Ttukbaegi Bulgogi is a bulgogi variant that is marinated in sweet soy sauce, cooked with vegetables and glass noodles for Php 280. No surprise here. It's the usual variant that we also enjoy in the other restaurants.
Daeji Galbi or Sweet BBQ Pork Ribs for Php 280. Love this! :-D
Adjacent dining area. It's more cozier and private.
This dining area side has a sort of private wall. It's this side where the keepsakes are displayed.
Royal Palace Korean Restaurant is located along the Korea Town, Friendship Road, Angeles City. It's in a hotel building with 7-Eleven.
