School Birthday Party

I always wanted to write about celebrating birthdays in school...my son attended so many and talks about them dearly. But since I never hosted one, I can never really talk about it in details. Good thing though, my nephew, Gabe, just had his birthday in school. He is a preschooler in Brightwoods School in Angeles City.

Planning a School Birthday Party:
  • Get permission with the school or get to know the school guidelines on this...cause they do differ! Common practice is that they allow it during the snack time, so it's basically a 30 minute affair.
    • Ask if they allow balloons, mascots etc.
    • Ask if they will allow a hosted party, just in case you will get restaurant party package (e.g. McDonald's, Jollibee etc.), with games.
    • If you decide to have a full blown party, ask if you will be allowed to hold it after class hours, to inform the parents that they will be picking up their kids at a later time. Downside of this, is that some of your kid's classmates will not be able to stay long if they are riding the school bus.
  • Make sure you know the head count of kids, and if you wish, you can allot extra for the teachers etc.
  • Give out invitations at least two days before, just to let the parents know that snacks is on you! :-)...and should they decide to return the favor of getting presents, you won't really rush them.
  • You can still choose a theme for this simple affair, like for my nephew, it's Toy Story! :-)
    • Get theme invitations, party hats, table liners/place mats
  • Important: Prepare a corresponding take-out bag/plastics, just in case they won't finish their food.
  • If you intend to serve the cake, make sure you bring serving knife and dessert plates and fork
  • Important: Be on time! This is the case when the party time will really start and end promptly!:-)
After Saying Grace, the "party" will start with the Birthday Song and Cake Blowing

About Me

My photo

Wifey to JB and Mommy to Chasey :) It's said that one's eyes are windows to one's soul. True! My eyes twinkle when I'm happy, they light up with my smile. I’m no frills! I'm easy to read (except during Poker). I easily get teary eyed on practically both happy and sad things. I'm overly emotional! UP,Toy Story 3, and Glee made me cry with delight. My hubby is my source of strength. He balances that side of my personality. He made me a more self-reliant person.I love being a mom. But be it known that I tend to be OC, paranoid, and definitely see my self as a stage mom.I can't help but throw him parties every year.I love to read. If there is a lifetime membership to Book Lover's Club, I've probably signed in as early as Grade 1. I'm blessed to have a special relationship with God. He is my confidante. I practically talked to him anywhere and anytime about anything. I'm a Kapampangan and supposedly known for having culinary skills. This still needs to be found perfected, but for sure, I can say I'm a gourmand!I love to eat and it shows!Oh well!Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder and Happiness is only a state of mind. From today onwards, I intend to live in a Happy Mode!Cheers!
